My felted Daffodil to wear today

This is my very bad attempt at a felted daffodil, it was either this or an attempt at a leek or a dragon (this is my first St. David's day without Idris :-( he is still AWOL )

I don't understand why my piccies always go sideways :o

Hi Sue, it isn't anywhere near as good as I wanted it to be, It just couldn't seem to get the trumpet part to stand out as I wanted it to. I should think with your wonderful crocheting you could easily knock one up. I tried my hand at some crocheting this week and just about managed to get the basic stitch done, but I think the wool I was using wasn't great. Perhaps you should out up a tutorial for idiots like me on you tube to help me. All the American ones seem to talk so quickly I can't grasp what they're on about .......lalalalala as ever. :o

in reply toFibrofoggiest

Be careful when following patterns. The americans call the stitches different names to those we use, I`ll look and see what i can find sue

in reply to

i`ve started a new board, starting crochet. When I was learning tunisian I found the best way was to use picture tutorials and vidieos what i puzzled over on the one I could see on the other. good luck sue

I'm not sure I'm up to patterns yet but I am looking at tutorials.....let's hope I manage to find the lost crochet hook..... Lalalalala :o

Fibrofoggiest in reply to

It took about an hour as I was dry felting the bit meant to be the trumpet, which didn't really come out the way I wanted it to, very frustrating :o

in reply toFibrofoggiest

Well it's fab nonetheless and I'd wear it :)

Are you a creative perfectionist Foggy?

I know I can be :o Just gives me the opportunity to try again :D LOL xxx

in reply to

I`m very rarlly satisfied with my attempts, :(

in reply to

I'm terrible for it I will keep going until I perfect something I will always find a flaw with something I make that no-one else sees, just me :)

in reply to

Have you ever made something was totally dissatisfied with and just shoved it in a draw. Then come accros it years later and its that much better than you remember. you cant believe that it was yours. I did once with some art work It still got stuck back in the draw though. sue

in reply to

often :) especially after Uni because a lot of things got boxed up and sent to the cellar :o

Funny isn't it LOL

Hi Foggy,

Please do not put yourself down, as you know I am Welsh and that Daffodil is absolutely FANTASTIC!! Well done you!!

You have put me to shame, as I have bought my Daffodil!! Even though it is attached to my "spotty!!" dressing gown, I am still proud to wear it! You should be so proud of your beautiful hand-made one, so please wear it with Pride!

I sincerely hope you will start to feel a little better soon. I have so much respect, love and all the help, you so freely give of yourself, has taught me just so much. I am extremely grateful to you!!

You have genuinely helped me, more than you will EVER know, thank you so much for all your kindness, empathy, care and love. You truly are unique, in the nicest possible way! A rare Gem, I treasure in my life! I continue to uphold you in my prayers.

Hope you have a good day, please look after yourself, enjoy the rest of the weekend..

Thank you for the Happy St. David"s Day Wishes.

Sending you positive healing energies & ((((big CWTCH)))) off me!

God Bless You,

Fondest Love Lynn XX

Hi Foggy

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Thank you so much for sharing this with us all. I actually think it is really good, you should be very happy with your finished daffodil.

Take care my friend

I think that daffodil is very very cute. Have you thought of doing poppies as well? Or any other flower. The would be cute on a headband too.

Fibrofoggiest profile image

Hi Milynda,

Indeed I have done poppies, I made several and gave them to friends, but took a donation to give to the British Legion. I made £20 for 7 poppies. I have done small flowers and large ones to wear as brooches in all sorta of colours, they make good little pressies for friends :-)
