Hi there honynan, welcome to the site you couldn't have picked a better one...yes it is normal to get cramp like pain almost anywhere in the body with this desease, but with anything new you should consult your doctor to Make sure theres nothing else going on, hope the pain doesn't last too long, but I'm sure someone else will come on and be able to give you more info, take care.....sending gentle hugs......Dee xx

Hi honyman

Welcome to the site, and I sincerely hope that you find it as useful as I do. I am so sorry to read that you are having this problem at the present time.

Although it is quite normal to get this sort of pain, I would always recommend that you discuss with your GP any new pain to ensure it is Fibro and not something else.

I am pasting the Fibroaction website link below, you may find this of great use for the future:

Please take care and let us know how you are getting on.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Welcome to the site. As has already been said, unfortunately this type of pain is quite common with Fibro, but do please have this and any new symptoms checked by your GP.

Its so easy for us to put everything down to Fibro and miss the symptoms of another illness, so please get it check (For example, i suffered with a diseased gallbladder for a year, assuming it was Fibro before I went to GP - dont make same mistake as me lol). Xxx

A very warm welcome to the site. Fibro does throw at us cramps and unusual pains that are difficult to deal with at times. I agree with all the above; it is a good idea to see your GP and have a chat to see if it is anything else and put your mind at rest. Take care and let us know how you get on.

Morning a nd Welcome Yes the cramp like pain radiating around your chest and sides seems to be one of our regular nasties. I believe it has a particular name sorry fog attack cannot remember what it is. I often suffer from it and it is quite vile. However, it will gently go away with rest and your usual meds and paracetamol.

Now if you feel uncomfortable about it go to the GP and get checked out. This is always advisable with new or different pains.

Remember we offer friendly advise we do not in any way replace your own physician.

Take care Have a good day the sun is shinning down here.

Hi, I get a lot of pain around my chest and sides, sometimes I even have to take my bra off as it hurts too much to wear. I don't know if you get this or anyone else for that matter, but I also get the feeling of...its like an elastic band being twanged in your chest then my heart seem to speed up a little. I have been to see the doctor and next week I am being put on a 24 hour heart monitor just to rule out anything untoward, but she expects it to be just another one to add to the Fibro.

As has been said before, it in doubt get it checked out :) Good luck with it all and enjoy the site, I am fairly new and the people have been supportive and friendly :) :) Susan
