Hi there, I'm sorry you are having such a rough time at the moment. If I were in your position now, I would approach your GP and ask if he has knowledge about fibro and is not dismissive of it. If he does know and understand it, then I would ask him to do the trigger point test, which will give him a pretty good idea as to whether you have fibro. If however he is either dismissive or not knowledgeable enough, then I would ask to be referred to a rheumatologist, who will have more understanding (hopefully) of fibro and you will be able to get a diagnosis that way.

I am sending you lots of positive healing vibes to you :-)

Hi again zeezee, there are 18 trigger point that are used to diagnose Fibro, if you google trigger points, Fibro, it should come up with diagrams showing exactly where they are, and your GP should know about this, if he/she doesn't know about them then maybe you need to look for a doctor who does. If you get more than 11 responses to the trigger points then you will have a diagnosis of Fibro, (I had 16 of the 18) which is a good indication of whether you do or do not have Fibro. Some doctors do blood tests as well, which in am a bit sceptical about, but am open to being corrected.

I wish you all the best and continue to send positive vibes your way :-)

My diagnosis was pretty quick compared to some!! I had problems with my hands at first and was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, that was ruled out when I had an EMG.It took a lot of visits to the Dr and hospitals to rule out other things, it was only the dedication of my Dr that I got a second opinion from rheumatology consultant at a different hospital! My advise is to Google your symptoms and write down all the ones that apply to you, persevere with it and if you're not happy ask to see someone else! Its your right and their job! Good luck.. Xx
