Hi Suzie,
for me , it is. I used to be a ballet dancer now I can't get up a flight of stairs. I am assuming your GP has ruled out other causes? I always think it is worth just mentioning it to your doctor just to make sure we are not blaming Fibro for everything.
Hugs

Hi Suzie I'd say yes as I was an athlete throughout my childhood and have always worked heavy duty manual labour jobs until I just couldn't. I think the Fibro coupled with Chronic Fatigue makes us feel weaker as our bodies are fighting constantly to run on fresh air, a bit like a car when its got an inch of fuel left. I have dreadful muscle weakness from the hips downover which led to tests for this and that to rule them out first before a diagnosis of fibro was given. Like Jilly I too think its worth mentioning to your GP if its something new because we are all too quick to blame Fibro for everything

Hi Susie I echo what has already been said. I used to spend at least an hour a day walking, first with my dog and then the 3 miles to work. now I struggle to get to the car. At work I d run up and down 6 flights of stairs, it was faster than the lift. Now I sometimes go upstairs on all fours, much to the mutts amusement, she thinks its a new game....hugs... sue.
me too sorry but your reply just made me chuckle mayrose, I worked in hotels and it was miles quicker to use the stairs than the lifts and I occasionally go up the stairs on all fours too you're not alone there

Ive just remembered something that made me chuckle, about the only time my friend and i used the lifts was when taking the black bags of rubbish we would pile all the bags into the lift and then sit on them becouse there was no room to stand..
eheheheheh yeah they were never very big we'd get the laundry trolley in and send it down and have to leg it downstairs to meet it so as not to block it and stop guests from using it. I then had wheel it through the hotel car park to the laundry room as it was the only way to get it there from the block I worked on............
No wonder I was like a stick back then hehehhe xx
Hi all... thanks for your replies... there are so many symptoms I've told my GP about I actually don't get round to tell her everything, because I'm also in remission from serious op 2years ago..
However thro the pain, fatigue, memory probs.. etcetera...this on going weakness scares me; I have seen a rheumatologist recently. And a locum Dr a few days ago. I must write a list ready for next appointment.
So happy to have found fibro action. Thanks ...hugs to you all xx
Yes it goes all over ur body sometimes u feel as if you have been kicked all over and you get fed up talking about it cos people who don't have it think ur just moaning.takes over your life but the flare ups r the worst
Yes I can also agree with all the other comments, I was a ballet teacher and held down a full time job as well, but now some days it's all I can do to get out of bed - take a shower- some days I'm too wrecked to hold a conversation or think . Making notes of things for your next visit is a good idea , I make lists for everything if not I forget things all the time . Hugs xxxx
Good morning,I would also say that's it's fibro related too.I used to be a Nurse working in a hospice and was up and down stairs all day, lifting patients etc..I also used to be fit and slim as a result of this, never dreamed that one day I would be the patient suffering with pain Sometimes the weakness is so bad that just moving around my small bungalow is hard xxx
Me to. I've got as we speak all over. When not a flare up its my legs and hands that are weak permanently..bad neck at mo. Has flared up plus's nagging wisdom tooth. O the joys... Xxx
same here , im flaring , and my legs are soo heavy all I can do is move slowly , my body is like a led weight . hugs angie xx
