Yes I did for about 3 years until I finally got diagnosed, I take amitriptyline at night that has stopped it, if I forget to take it for a few days the nausea comes back, the rheumy said it was because with fibro you don't go in to a deep enough sleep and it was that that caused the nausea.

Hi mazz i was put on amitriptyline but didnt agree with me and was given nothing else. My sleep is awful has been for few years but wasnt really taken seriously enough until i was diagnosed with the fibro. I'm taking anti sickness tablets which make me drowsy so along with the other meds its no good but hate feeling sick xx

Hi kittyfisher

hope your nausea is a bit better. Do you take Tramadol or Co-codamol? A lot of people can't take Tramadol as nausea is a common side-effect. Co-codamol also has nausea as a side-effect. Hope you get it sorted out as its not very pleasant feeling sick all the time.

Hi gerryjay i've been taking tramadol for years and my meds havent been changed so i dont know. Its maybe just the fibro itself. Its not a new symptom like just very annoying :-(

hi kittyfisher,

I am on tramadol along with many more tablets and medication and yes i feel tramadol does make you suffer from nausea :( just another kick in the back to add to everything else isnt it xx

A lot of the nausea comes from the medicines that we take..

there's always a trade off.

Hi kitty. I suffer from nausea even when I wasn't taking any meds. I could take yo amtriptylene either so I have just been moved onto nortriptylene which I think is helping and I don't get any side effects. It might be worth trying. I think it's helped the nausea too. Xoxo

Meant to say I couldn't take amtriptylene

Hi zoisie, how are you?Does the nortrtylene increase your appetite and is it a tricyclic antidepressant?xxx

Good morning chum :) it is a tricyclic I believe. I find anti depressants suppress my appetite. Perhaps because they lift my mood and my weight issues are emotionally rooted. If I feel happy I don't comfort eat. I'm also playing a bakery game on my iPad so distract myself making 'play' food. Lol

How you doing today? Xxo

Hi zosie thank you for your reply. I'm going to have to make an appointment with the doc and see about an alternative to the amitriptylene. I still have the nausea its been constant all week and thats taking 2 anti sickness tablets a day as well. Its horrible. I very nearly passed out on friday as I havent been able to eat and I've lost so much weight over the months due to when I'm in pain I cant eat either. Vicious circle. How long have you had fibro xx

Hi Kitty, I've been diagnosed for two years but I believe I've had this or 10 years. Since going onto the nortriptylene my nausea as gone, but my other symptoms are much better as is my mood. Hard to say what caused the nausea, but I think my levels of stress/worry/anxiety didn't help.

I hope you get on well at the docs. Make sure the doctor knows about the weight loss. It's important to tackle your nausea as without food/fuel to nourish you, your body will have to work harder.

Sending you a warm hug xoxo

Hello Kittyfisher, I've always off and on over the years suffered from Nausea and no one knew why but once I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia then it all made sense as to why I get it! I do take Anti-sickness tablets which help when it gets bad. Some one mentioned that taking Amitriptyline gives you nausea, well I've been on 50mg and it doesn't make me feel sick or any of my other medication! It only comes on now and again. I find having a peppermint to suck helps now and again... I did try Tramadol but its not a good drug to take and. It can make you feel sick. Hope you get yourself sorted out, Take Care, Love. Hi kittyfisher

I have the most chronic nausea! My GP has prescribed metroclopramide 10mg tablets which I take 3 times daily. They are quite a good little medication but the side effects brochure is enough to put you off! I hope that you can get it sorted.
