Let your doctor know it sounds like your thermostate /thyroid is on the blink

Greetings Breana,

One of the problems with fibro is that we can't regulate our body temperature, so many suffer with either the cold or heat or both. I have always had problems being cold when no-one else feels it. My mum told me that I always had very cold hands as a child and I still suffer from freezing hands and feet, even on warm days and I've had my circulation checked and it's fine. I don't have any thyroid problems.

I hope this info helps but please consult your GP if you're really worried. Stay warm and many blessings x

I am always freezing cold, even sometimes in the warmer weather. I go cold as soon as I sit down which of course I do a lot of with fibro. I had my thyroid checked and that's okay, so I assume my thermostat doesn't work. Sometimes low blood pressure can cause you to feel cold as well. Check with your doctor x

I too suffer with the cold, I know I have raynauds , which doesn't help, but I really struggle to keep warm . I I too have had my thyroid tested and it is apparently ok, but I do go along with the fact that fibro affects the way your body regulates your temperature . I hope you find some way of keeping warm, having to have your house at that temperature all year must be pretty expensive :o

Foggy x

Oh dear, odd one out again! I just never feel the cold. I'm still in flip flops! I have to turn the heating off in my bedroom at all times and sleep under the thinnest quilt I can get.

I've been like this for years, long before I was actually diagnosed with FM, and never understood why. Before you all think 'lucky you', believe me, the embarrassment of sweating profusely out in company is awful. I have to change underwear and clothes at least twice a day and I never feel clean, even after showering and washing my hair daily. Don't know if I'd rather be cold because I never am!!!..............Just realised that this has probably not helped anyone at all........sorry.

I couldn't tell ya for sure but Gin's onto my first thought.

Getting it checked is a simple blood test. xD

Must be costing a bomb in heating costs. Certainly get it checked out. A few years ago I tried Ginseng, and I had never been so warm. Now it's the menopause, and basically...who needs ginseng any more!! (or socks..)

I'm always colder than everyone else. My thyroid has been checked and every tine comes back normal so I am resigned to the fact that it's to do with fibro. I have my hat on now, warm jumper and feet on a hot water bottle.
