or does anyone else find that as much as you want to look nice just the thought of washing your hair and putting on makeup makes you want to dive under the quilt?

I tend to go out with filthy hair rather than risk not being able to get out at all!

I was thinking of having mine cut short, but thenm I wouldnt be able to get away with just sticking it in a pony. Not that, that is always the easiest thing in the world to do. If it doest go right first time Im stuffed, cant hold my arms up long enough to do it twice!

Amen to that Twiglet! I got some of those hair clips that let you make and easy bun. Get it right first time pretty much all the time so sorted and looks smart too :) x

I think it's fairly usual to feel like washing and drying your hair, or putting your make-up on etc is too much hassle, far too exhausting to even think about when you've had a bad night or your Fibro is playing up! I feel like this a lot of the time these days. I used to wash my hair every day come rain or shine, shower before and after work, always made-up and dressed smartly. Now I try to make all these things easier and less exhausting. I had to give up work so obviously that makes life easier, I had no choice there. I use dry shampoo which works a treat on days when I really can't muster the energy to wash my hair, I wear bright coloured more comfy clothes. I can't bear anything too tight or clingy, it's so uncomfy. I always try to put a bit of make-up on, a bit of blusher so I don't look too pale when I feel half dead lol! It's amazing what a bit of an ego boost a bit of mascara can do! Jewellery helps - I keep my earring studs in, a gold locket and I am ready to face the World for another day! It's nothing like I used to do, but doing these small things and a spray of perfume too, I can feel much better! :) Of course on bad days and flare-ups it's not possible to do these things, then resting is my main consideration. :)

If Im not going out, I could quite happily stay in my pjs all day, without make up or even brushing my hair. But I try to make the effort when the kids or my husband is coming in, cos I dont want to look ill to them. A low dose antidepressant might help x

Yup, Im on one, citalapram and like you I do make the effort for my partner, we dont live together and I dont get to see him that often so I do always go the extra mile. I look nice for him and feel better in myself, if a little knackered, lol
