Hi Loll, you are not alone, as i am writing this i am forgetting what i am going to write LOL, but on a more serious note i forget things all of the time, i can go into the the kitchen to make a coffee, and as it takes so long to hobble to the kitchen i can forget what i went in for, i also forget how to spell words ( thank god for spell check ) as far as i know his is known as FibroFog, there are loads of people who suffer with Fibro who will tell you the same, i know it can be very frustrating but i try not to let it get to me and have a laugh, my wife thinks i hae gone mad when i go into the kitchen and start talking to myself calling my self names for forgetting what i went in for.

So once again before i foget to say dont let it get to you.

All of the best, keep your chin up.

CHORLEY :)

Very common, we all get it to some degree some worse than others, dont worry youre not insane!! It wasnt that long since i drove into town and was walking around and noticed i still had my slippers on. It much worse for me if im not sleeping!! Ive even got into the car set off driving and forgotten where im going! Before i was diagnosed with fm i thought i was going crazy literally.

You are not alone with this

All my love x

Morning, forgetfulness is such a pain isn't it!! I can walk from one room to the other to get something and forget whilst walking what I am doing. That really does my head in and I get so frustrated. I now have learnt to return to the original room and re trace my steps and my original thought usualyy comes back to me.

I am also great at forgetting what I am saying and mid sentence I just say.......errrr Ok what was I saying.....I also forget the odd word too.

You're not alone....Keep smiling x

Also have this problem, made worse by some meds.

Set your alarm for appointments - mine has just gone off to remind me I have a hair appointment today.

One make notes, put up signs (I have one by back door don't blot if everyone not home).

Make routines and keep to them. Have a place for everything and put things back in place when you have used them.

Say out loud what you are going to do - I am going to the kitchen to make a cup of tea (that usually better if no strangers are around).

Be kind to yourself - every body forgets things.

Write on your hand if really important.

It's embarrassing when you are talking to someone you don't know and forget the word you want. I seem to do that a lot these days.

I know how frustrating this can be....I am the worlds worst forgetter! I woprk with elderly in a care home and have lost count of the times they say 'you're worse than me!'

retracing your steps is a good method although not funny when you're hobbling about to have to go back and do it again.

when I forget a word I use actions or descriptions to find it....I often have to ask my clients ' where is the coat you put on top of your nightdress?' they laugh with me and say 'my dressing gown?' haha

my 26 year old son is used to finding the laundry in the fridge and the milk in the tumble drier....he just puts it right without comment now.

he does alll the cooking because I forget the dinner is on and burn it...timers are no use to me as I spend so long fathoming out what that noise is that the dinner is burnt anyway!

I have a few microwave dinners in the freezer at all times in case he is out...its pretty hard to burn those

I lose my car quite often, park it at the shopping centre then forget which car park it's in.Another one with the car is standing for ages beside the car swearing at the central locking for not working only to discover its NOT my car...not even the right colour or make of car hahha

laughter is the best medicine for fibro fog..and acceptance....oh and write everything on your hand or arm...you cant lose that like you can a post it note!

people get used to seeing you with scribbles on you honest!

on a serious note I find Tai chi helps with both pain and forgetfullness the excercise is gentle and I find it very soothing, try and find a class near you

I am very bad, it was effecting my job that I was pulled up about it, so wanted the ground to open up. I see people don't remember them and when I get a call I have no idea half the time who I am talking to, I just go along with it and hope for the best that I remember who I am talking to. It's very fustrating makes me so mad.
