Oh yes!!! cannot wait till the warm weather comes. Last spring when it was hot, was on holiday and managed to walk the whole week and didnt use the wheelchair once. Today I cannot even get down 4 small steps to use the wheelchair.

Hands..... and if I rib them is like I'm rubbing crushed glass in.... Found sitting them on a hot water bottle in my lap helped. Also I have microwave slippers.... yes really! xxx

YES! Man do my bones know its cold! everything just aches all over, and usually its just in random places. Everything feels stiff to move and my skin is SO sensetive! i passed something across my bare knees the other day and caught my knee slightly with my nail, and it drew blood! that was almost a week ago and its still a lumpy purple scab :/ I hope it gets warm soon! x x

Hiya, i think that fibromyalgia is like most other arthritis style conditions and is very much effected by the cold so we tend to suffer alot more.. if you think about it alot of us are made to feel better in the heat (not all of us) so the cold makes us feel worse.

HI ive just joined, yes the cold weather is a nightmare, my fingers, toes and nose are the worst always icy cold. My nose is very worrying, painfull to a point i could cry, when it dose warm-up it feels like it's on fire, but i look in the mirror and i look the same. I don't understand how you can be in such pain and look so well normal, if anyone asks me whats wrong, i don't say anything as there's no point in trying to explain. If you can't see it, your fine.

Hi. just joined the group. I have rhumatoid arthritis as well as fibro and find the cold weather makes it worse.Find myself wearing thermal leggings under my jeans, scarf and gloves in the house.

Just the same, my GP suggested using heat pads, but I can't use them & hold my sticks etc. I use a mobility scooter as I can't walk far, but sometimes my hands get so cold & sore that I lose control of them. This has happened a couple of times while I've been trying to cross the road - I just come to an abrupt halt, half way across! GP says not to go out when it's very cold, but I REFUSE to become housebound. Trouble is even with 2 pairs of gloves & socks & really warm clothes & boots, it still happens. Roll on spring

I find that the cold definately make my symptoms worse. I have memory foam mattress topper and pillow which help until the cold weather arrives then it is less effective. roll on the summer when hopefully we will all feel slightly better.

I was getting a lot of pain in soles of feet and palms of hands and sharp twinges on the back of both. Medication has helped a bit but since the cold my hands hurt more again and the feet feel cold for ages after getting in bed

My fibro symptoms are like a thermometer. They recognise any change in weather. The cold makes me stiff and the heat makes me swell! Oh the joys!!

Hi I'm new to this site, my experience of the cold is usually a positive one if i'm feeling well and positive, however, when i'm in a flare up or feel generally drained/worn out or depressed I do feel like my bones have been replaced by ice cold steel, my muscles feel like they provide no warmth, it is even to painful for my cat to sit on my knee or thighs, the pressure points become more apparent and my ribs ache, I do rate hot water bottles, and a blanket, they are life savers believe me. I also find my face goes really hot and red yet the rest of me is cold...don't know what that is all about? I do get restless legs and that is more upsetting to me that the day to day pain. HOT WATER BOTTLES FOLKS!!!

r depressed I do feel like my bones have been replaced by ice cold steel, my muscles feel like they provide no warmth"

Yes! This is how I get too. Wish something could be done for it. I take super hot baths when I get like this. And I wear several layers in my legs. But my upper body can be warm while my legs cold.

Hi jellybean49, yes the cold weather makes my pain much worse and seems to do that to most Fibro sufferers, it's horrible! Take care
