Happy Easter everyone, wondering what people’s thoughts are on accuracy of early pregnancy tests? I had a peak lh on the 15th but don’t bbt so can’t actually confirm ovulation. I have dramatically reduced my alcohol intake over the last 6 months but I am going on a hen do Saturday the 26th. My app reckons I will be due my period on Monday 28th as my average cycle is 26 days. Do you think I could be confident using a 6 day early test the Saturday morning or would yas just not risk having a drink either way? I was just thinking a couple of celebratory Prosecco’s, not going wild, but would never forgive myself if I found out a few days later I was pregnant and can’t really be sure of dpo without confirming ovulation. Thank you for any advice, I have already ordered 6 day early first response and 6 day early clear blue. 🌈🙏🏼 xxx

early pregnancy test help?

Hi Frankjones3373
I don’t have much advice to give regarding your question but I am exactly on the same boat it just feels so restrictive being in 2ww.
I had my ovulation pain on the 14th but I wear a Oura ring which tracks my cycle with BBT and my ring tells me that my BBT had risen on nighttime of 17th or daytime18th which means I ovulated on the 16th. My clearblue ovulation test gave me a smiley face on the 10th night time so basically it’s all over the place!!!!!
I had couple of sips of red wine today on Easter celebration with family as I was fed up with all these and I think it is really ok to have a glass of drink if you are going to a hendo. People do drink without knowing they are pregnant and it is still all ok, being too strict probably will mentally drain you at some points. I am happy to hear what others think…
Thank you for reply! It’s just nice to know that others understand as Im pretty sure I drive my partner mad in every 2 week wait ha.
I know alcohol isn’t a priority but it is how majority of my friends socialize unfortunately and definitely feels that I am missing out every month. I’m willing to do that for our rainbow baby tho.
I just don’t know how much to trust an early test. I’m guessing the important part is the days past ovulation rather than ‘6 days before period’ as they are advertised xxx
Don’t worry you are definitely not alone I also drive my husband crazy too but we need someone to rant to I guess!
I have dropped you a message if you need anyone to rant to as we are on the same boat! I am also 35 and hoping for a rainbow baby!
Hi the accuracy is only to a certain point and becomes more accurate once your expected period is here or passed so there’s still a small risk of being pregnant and it not showing. Then it depends how you feel about the risk and how you’d feel if positive later, everyone’s different. Good luck 🤞🏼
if you have a drink it won’t affect the pregnancy the alcohol does not travel to fetus until the placentas kicks in about week 8. I conceived via IVF twice and had a very small drink in the 2WW on both successful transfers (didn’t in unsuccessful ones) most people dont know they are pregnant and carry on as normal for the first few weeks. Give yourself a break and have a few Proseccos is my advice! Early tests are pretty accurate (maybe about 80% at that point. The pack leaflet will tell you) like a pink dye one just in case you do want to check xx
