Hi all I got a positive result on the 26 of March and since then I’ve had on and off spotting and a bit heavier bleeding, but last night I had a proper major bleed like having a really heavy period. I was away so when I got back home this afternoon I managed to do another test it’s still positive but I’m still bleeding heavily, I’m not sure what I should do. I’ve sent a message to my clinic just waiting for a reply.

heavy bleeding

Hello lovely,
Aw I'm so sorry - this must be very stressful for you.
It's possible that the bleed is a haematoma - basically a bruise in the uterus outside the sac. They are annoyingly common in IVF pregnancies.
Can you go to your local EPU - if you are bleeding they will usually fit you in for a scan.
Fingers crossed it's nothing serious
xx
Thank you for your reply, will they see me if I haven’t had my first appointment with the midwife yet.
Yes they will - they are separate to the midwife department. They will literally see you if you are newly pregnant and have any concerns. x
Hi lovely contact your local EPU early pregnancy unit and tell them your pregnant and having a heavy bleed they should tell you to come in for a scan and a check a lot of women have bleeds in pregnancy but better to get checked
X
I’m so sorry to hear this, it’s the last thing you want after such a promising start. Having been in this situation many times there is unfortunately nothing you can do and it’s a very specific form on torture. It’s good the test is still positive, if you want you can test every few days and see if the line gets stronger or weaker on the same brand of test. Pray for it to get stronger and for the bleeding to stop and just try to go about your business 🙏
As previous posters said contact your local EPU. Same thing happened to me at 5 weeks, they got me in for an early scan and saw a hematoma which was causing the bleeding. They were so reassuring and had regular follow up with them before my first midwife appointment.
