So I had my first round of ICSI recently. I’m currently (just this morning) 8 days post transfer with a 5 day embryo.
I KNOW you’re not meant to test before 11 days after the transfer but I couldn’t wait.
The top test in the picture is from 4dpt (a very very faint positive), 7dpt (a fairly defined positive) and 8dpt (a fainter positive that the day before - when it first showed it looked really significantly fainter compared to the previous one, but it’s got a bit more defined in the last half hour since testing).
As predicted this up and down result is messing with my head - the whole reason they tell you not to test early, of course.
I’m using First Response, the one that gives you a result in 45 seconds - because when I’ve been pregnant in the past Clearblue has never detected early pregnancy for me but FR has. However I’ve realised this morning it’s not an “early” testing product.
Anyone got any ideas what’s going on here? My egg collection was 13 days ago and my trigger injection 16 days ago and I really don’t think that the hcg from that would still be in my blood? I read somewhere it goes after 9 days. Also, if it was that leaving my body, surely it would be decreasing consistently?

Try not to worry! A similar thing happend to me ...
I was getting weak positives from 5DP5DT that got stronger until 9 days. I tested again on OTD and the line was much weaker and the clearblue digital was only saying 1-2 weeks, when at that point i should have been 2-3! I was convinced i was having a chemical pregnancy and was devastated. I’d used first morning urine the same for all.
I called my clinic and they said not to worry, that my urine might have been more diluted that morning, or i didnt catch it midstream or for as long as previous .. or maybe too long.
I’m now 25 weeks pregnant!
I remember the feeling of hopelessness so much though its awful. Try again tomorrow & call your clinic for reassurance xx
Hi Ab, I’m in exactly the same boat at you right now. This is my first round of ISCI as well. today I am 10dp5dt. I tested on 7dp and it was a really clear line, then I tested yesterday 9dp and it seemed slightly lighter. It is worrying but lots of things can affect it I’m sure. I’m going to wait and test tomorrow my OTD. Hopefully it will be a good line still.
I’m wishing us both all the luck In the world that our little eggs stick around xx
Best of luck to you! I think the points made above are quite reassuring - it could well be the consistency of how long it was in the urine stream (yuck) for, or the dilution. Hopefully as you’re 10dp your result should be pretty accurate. I’ve got everything crossed for you and your embryo 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 - let me know how you get on tomorrow! x
