Hi Ladies
Just wondering what to expect from a fertility acupuncture session. Where should I expect to have needles placed? Its not cheap so wanted to know what I should be expecting.
Thanks

I have the same question !
Hi, my acupuncture sessions last 50 minutes and she typically puts most needles around my ovaries / lower abdomen, then some in my lower legs, feet and hairline. Acupuncture is all about blood flow so that’s why you have a needle at the top and bottom of your body too. She puts very tiny ones in my ears that I keep in for a few days after a session (you can shower etc with them in). Depending on where I am in my cycle, she would do electro-stimulation on the needles in my abdomen, so attaches electrodes and you feel tiny little electrical impulses where the needles are placed. This would often be to help with ovulation. Sometimes there will just be a heat lamp placed over the abdominal needles to aid with blood flow. Following a transfer and around the time of possible implantation is the only time it is slightly different - the needles are placed a bit higher in the abdomen.
The needles don’t hurt, you obviously feel them going in slightly but once they’re in it’s completely painless. I find it really relaxing and before I had acupuncture my periods were all over the place, somewhere between 28-38 days, but once I started having it they were religiously 31/32 day cycles.
I hope you find it useful and relaxing too, good luck! 💫
