First time for FET

Hello,

I am having my eggs frozen for the first time. The clinic is worried as my blood levels are to high and they are concerned about OHSS. This is my second round. My first round was a BFN.

Has anyone else had a FET? If so could you explain the process to me plz? I’m anxious as to what to expect and the realistic outcome of it.

Thank you xx

There are very knowledgeable people on here who will advise in depth about FET.

But one thing I was told by my clinic is that their FET transfers have a better success rate.

No idea if that is true....but I'd like to think so....x

Yeah I heard that too. Something to do with them being a little ‘rougher’ after thawing so they attach better. Good luck to you EB20 xxx

I actually wished we did a freeze all instead of our fresh transfer!

Hi, I’ve only ever had FET’s, as I had a freeze all for the same reason as you.

My usual protocol is baseline scan, then start estrogen on day 2 of my cycle (I have progynova tablets). Another scan sometime between day 8-10 and if all looking good with your womb lining you’ll be given a transfer date and it’s on to progesterone for 5 full days before transfer day.

Success rates are usually as good with fets as fresh transfers so try not to worry about that. Xx

Thank you Solly-44. I thought I would be waiting months before being able to have a FET. This sounds all ok. I hope your transfer gives you your happy ending. Good luck! Xxx

Hello :) I developed OHSS and had to go for a freeze all. Currently going through a FET. My protocol includes 4 weeks of down-regulation with Buserelin injections, around 2.5 weeks of Progynova tablets and later on progesterone pessaries. I was quite disappointed at the end of my first fresh cycle that we couldn't transfer but actually my body has now had time to recover and I feel more ready for it. Good luck!

Thank you! That’s how I feel too. I feel disappointed that my body doesn’t want to do what it needs to but I understand the process. Good luck to you too! I hope you end up with your little bundle of joy soon xxx
