I’m so fortunate to be heading towards the 12 week mark this weekend. After blood results from today I’m going to be weaning off a lot of my meds from this weekend (although they said cyclogest will remain until around week 25!)
is it normal to feel SO bloody nervous to stop the progesterone injections, oestrogen, steroids etc? I have to trust my clinic but I’m just soooo nervous!!

Congrats Thierry. I totally felt the same about stopping and more so as I had been admitted to hospital with a threatened miscarriage at 7 weeks (while on all the meds) but weaning off them helped and seeing so many posts from other people who felt the same.
It was also kind of exciting not to have to do injections anymore and put away the yellow bin, I felt it was a proper milestone.
I too have to continue on cyclogest until told otherwise so feel like that is a little bit of a safety net. Over 16 weeks now and no issues since stopping meds.
Good luck with the weaning process and take it as a good sign the clinic are happy for you to stop! Congrats and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.
Firstly congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 and secondly yes it is entirely normal. I was on high strength immuno protocol and really felt like they took the training wheels off in my first few days! Yes you are grateful to stip the injections and a hundred pills but since it's what got you pregnant it's hard to let go of that crutch. However you will be fine, trust your body to know what to do. And try and enjoy every minute of it, it passes so quickly!
hey 👋🏼 you might want to move over to the forum for pregnancy after fertility treatment. There is lots and lots of posts about this in there and loads of helpful advice as you move forward too 🤗 xx
It’s called ‘fertility network uk - pregnancy support’. It’s on here too and has the same wee greens blue circle icon as this one. I didn’t know about it for my first pregnancy either but lovely ladies on there have helped with a few of my questions and worries with this current one. Think the admin ask us to move over to there after our viability scans if I remember the admin post correctly. Ps soooooo delighted to see things are coming along nicely for you lovely 🥰 xx
congratulations.. hope the weaning off meds goes easy for you. And so nice to hear your positive journey it gives us all a lot of hope 😊..
Please do continue to update on here how you get on with weaning off your meds, and definitely your beautiful pregnancy journey overall, as I’m sure like me others are always waiting to read positive successful fertility journeys..
We all need the hope and positivity to help us in our fertility journey x
I was also very worried about weaning off the meds at 12 weeks, but honestly all was fine. Your body is doing most of the work now anyway, they just feel like such a safety blanket.
