Started FET and really nervous!

So after a failed first cycle of ivf in febuary.. we have just about managed to pluck up the courage for FET of our only remaining embryo.

Our clinic has me on a short protocol for FET

Started cetrotide injections and progynova tablets yesterday which was day1 of my cycle and have the worst period pains today..feel really achey in the whole amdomen but mostly groin area.. really bloated too 😖

Has anyone been through anything similar on these meds?

This is my first FET and id love to hear from anyone going through FET atm or anyone who has been through this

I had a failed fresh cycle feb and am now on 2ww for my first FET and I had same drugs as you x

I’m in 5 progynova tablets a day and I’m now on lubion injections for my progesterone

Hi Sk1817. Oh dear! Cetrotide is not the best of medication to have to endure, but it does a good job. Just wanted to wish well and that your little embie is soon back where he/she belongs inside you. Thinking of you. Diane

Is there any specific advice that I should be following for a succesfuk FET? Im trying to eat healthily but find it really difficult to stick to a strict diet

Also last time round after the transfer i was advised i could leave the clinic right away and had to get off the bed and walk a while to the parking lot.. this time round i may ask to lay down for 30 mins or so.. do you think getting up soon after transfer has a negative effect at all?

Sorry it probably sound silly but im willing to try anythibg this time round

Hi. I have always let my ladies lie down for half an hour before they leave. You could say you feel a bit dizzy or something if they want you to get straight up. Just eat a sensible diet, you should be ok. Good luck! Diane

Sorry for hijacking this! I have read soooo many different things about what to do after et. Some say I should lie down as much as I can for the day, some say I should go back to work to take mind off.. what would you recommend?

Hi. If you’ve been through egg collection and transfer, then a few days off. If a fresh frozen transfer, perhaps the afternoon off. See how you feel. Good luck with whatever you decide. Diane

Hi.. thats exactly the same as me.. prayng it goes well for u in a few weeks tine and you get your perfect pregnancy and little one . Its nerve wrecking as only have 1 embie left... i dont know if we can afford another cycle .. trying to be positive but cant help how i feel!

Waiting to have my followup appointment and start frozen cycle asap.

It is another new experience - but I presume a bit easier than full Ivf procedure?

Im 4 days into FET meds today..have my scan on 13th to see lining progression...just want to skip to ET

Don’t know about cerotide but I felt crappy on progynova until I added in the progesterone pessaries five days before transfer. After that I felt ok.

Ive never been on Cetrotide but i’ve always found fet are kinder on the body and much less stressful! Lots of luck to you! X
