Failed PGT-A embryo transfer

Hello ladies, I don't know where to start..We have had a rough week. Had our 4th FET- 1st PGT-A tested embryo.

Our day 14 HCG levels came back at 236- we were so elated, so happy, having never gotten a positive before. Clinic asked us to repeat level in 48hrs- it came back at 70. We are heartbroken, it seems so cruel- on top of the world one minute, the next, our world crashing down. So confused as to why, everything was good.

I have had multiple investigations over the years, only slight raised NK cells AV showed up. Male infertility so donor sperm.

I don't know if anyone will have any advice as to how best to proceed moving forward, but just wanted to reach out, cause if anyone knows how this feels it is ladies like yourselves who are going/have been through it xx

Hi,

I’m so sorry to read your post and it totally sucks. I’ve had the same experience recently twice; last October I had a chemical pregnancy I went for blood test 10pt6dt which came back 27 (kinda borderline) and then 13 the following day. Before that, I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks, which shook my core. I also tested slightly high for NK cells back in August.

Before my third IVF cycle which is coming up, I had a biopsy and they found Chronic Endometritis which I just finished taking antibiotics for. I would recommend doing the ERA/EMMA/ALICE tests to check your uterine environment is all ok.

But also, I hope you are able to find some joy in your life still, you have support and are looking after yourself. Infertility journey can be really soul destroying so it’s important that you give yourself a bit of time to heal (length varies for everyone) but you are able to hold some hope and you get on it when your ready xx

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Sorry to hear about all you have been through, so incredibly hard. Sometimes I think how strong we are to get back up again after going trough so much emotional pain 💔 Yea I have also had the ERA/EMMA/ALICE done. Also had biopsy done when I had hysteroscopy. It's so hard, I'm hoping I get stronger as the days move forward. Xx

I’m so sorry. We PGTA tested with our second round after two miscarriages and two failed transfers (I also have high NK cells). My first PGTA tested transfer resulted in another miscarriage, even with steroids and IVIG, so I understand your pain. My clinic said embryos can still have issues that are not identified through the PGTA testing.

We did our second PGTA tested transfer with exactly the same protocol and I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant - my 6th transfer overall. Keep on hoping, wishing you all the best x

Thnak you for your reply. Congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️ It is so nice to hear this news, given you too have also been through so much. Sometimes it's hard to see a happy ending when in the depths of another failure, but have to try xx

I’m so sorry 💔 I had a blighted ovum with my 6th transfer so the HCG level just hovered around 400 and at the 7 week viability scan there was an empty sac 💔💔 after positive tests I thought I was going to see a little heart beat but the embryo had never developed that far. Mine wasn’t PGT tested so I knew that was the risk so my heart goes out to you after doing the testing.

I’m so sorry to read the HCG dropped but it does seem to have dropped quite quickly. Did they mention double checking the blood test?

I feel for you, I know what this heart break feels like and we used donor sperm too. The only comfort I took at the time was that the embryo did implant, so that part was possible but just didn’t continue.

They didn’t tell me to do anything apart from wait for my period after they did another test I think 14 days later to verify HCG had returned to < 5. Sending love and strength at this tough time x

Thank you for your reply KitKat.. so sorry for what you have been through 💔 It's such a hard road, and so lonely at times. Yea my repeat 3rd HCG at dropped again to 44. My clinic were surprised from the initial drop. It has really shook me as my first positive after 3 failed tranfers. Xx
