Day 8 Stims Scan

I had my scan today and to say I'm gutted is an understatement.

I've been taking everything under the sun and it's looking like round 3 is going to be similar or less than round 2 which was 9 months ago.

I had 7 follicles with 4 a good size, the others very small and unlikely to catch up. The sonographer really struggled to get a proper view of my right ovary.

Is there any chance the bad view means that there may be more hiding? Wishful thinking I know.

I broke down after the appointment due to the disappointment and feeling like this round is going to fail like the others.

i’m so sorry you are feeling this way, i have been in your situation and it us heartbreaking. I don’t have any advice but I just wanted you to know I have been there and you are not alone. I hope you are ok. Was that your first scan? How many scans do your clinic do?

I only had one folicle at my first scan in my first round but i did have four by the end. I was still so gutted as my pre ivf scans all showed 9-11 follicles

Hi - thank you.

Yes it was my first scan, clinic will scan again tomorrow then make a decision on trigger. The small ones were only 5mm and 2mm so no chance of them catching up.

Hello 🤗 I had 3 rounds and for the two of them I had a very "kind" consultant that said no way I will get as many as the first round from the scans . I had 12 on the first one. I then have 14 and 12 and she continued commenting that I was hiding them!. On one of my scans they had real issues seeing my left ovary. Anyway I know easier said than done but it only takes one . Please be kind to yourself and all the best ❤️

Thank you - those were great numbers you got. I'm feeling deflated. I don't know how one ovary can only measure 1CC during stims but 9CC on a baseline scan. I'm hoping the lack of proper view means there's something hiding. Probably not.

my ‘worst’ round number of eggs wise is the one that brought me 2 good embryos one of which I’m 34 weeks pregnant with! I was gutted when they said 6 follicles after having 8-9 on other rounds but Sometimes the numbers aren’t everything and less can mean better quality! Fingers crossed for you xx
