Day 7 stims

Hi all,

Back for my 2nd fresh round and been for day 7 stims scan today.

Follicle count better than last round (I have low amh so not going to get loads) I have 3 large ones and 3 that may or may not catch up. Egg collection probably Wednesday but will confirm on Mondays scan.

My question really is that the nurse mentioned the possibility of a day 2 transfer (I had day 3 last time) and wasn’t really aware that day 2 transfers were that common.

I know I’m getting ahead of myself as not even got to collection yet but wondered if anyone had experience of day 2 transfers and the circumstances and outcome?

Hi I agree this does sound a bit early to start discussing transfer days. But just to reassure you day 2 transfers aren’t unusual. They often take place if day 3 is a Sunday and the clinic isn’t open and you don’t have many embryos so the clinic don’t want to risk taking them to day 5. I’ve had day 2 transfers before and whilst they didn’t work for me I strongly believe that was nothing to do with the day and actually to do with me having old eggs! Good luck x

Hi,I had a day 2 transfer. They say the embryos grow better in you than out, so if you only have 2 embryos, they'll put them both in as soon as possible (in the clinic I went to). If you have more embryos, they'll wait to see which ones are stronger.

It didn't work in my case, but that's more because I'm older than Yoda in fertility years and I had internal bleeding from the egg collection.

The 2 week wait is longer though and that is tough.
