Day 7 scan after stims

Hi Everyone,

I had my day 7 scan today! Been taking ovaleap for 7 days total so far. So I have around 10 small follicles and about 6 that are larger in size and I’ve been told they want to keep me on injections for a couple more days to wait for the larger ones to grow. I’m going back to get scanned again in two days time.

Just want to know what people experiences are at this time?? How many follicles did you have and how many did you end up getting retrieved? I know everyone is unique and shouldn’t compare but I find it helpful to know what others have got!

It seems like my egg collection will be early next week from the sounds of it…fingers crossed!

I'ce just finished my second cycle and the follicle number difference was wild. First time I had 18 all of different sizes of which 9 made it to grow and contain mature egg at collection. Second cycle I had 9 in total, of which we got 13 (I guess some were hidden?!) and 8 mature eggs. First cycle had blastocyst at day 5 second cycle none.. been on this forum long enough to know that when they say number don't count it is so true. You will hear from ladies having 2 follicles and two babies and all the other end of the spectrum. My advice is follow your doctor orders, distract yourself untill collection day and don't overthink your follicles (hard to do I know), you have several which is a great sign you're responding to stimulation 😘 I wish you all the best xx

Thank you for sharing your experience and you’re totally right, it’s just numbers at the end of the day and everyone is different! I love having different scenarios to expect so I can mange m my own expectation I think that’s why I ask! I wish you all the best too! 🥰

I had 16 of varying sizes follicles and 11 mature eggs which resulted in 4 day 5 blastocysts through ICSI. They had cancelled my first cycle on day 10 as I had two HUGE follicles they thought were probably cysts and then nothing else, and then my period came early so the next cycle started only 5 days later where we got the blastocysts. I found it really hard to trust the clinic, but they were spot on with what needed to be done.

hi, all depends on your age, egg quality, sperm and so on, I had similar figures at day 7 scan(11) then 12 at day 10scan(but4-5 were small) and they ended up collecting 9 eggs been told straight away 1 no good so had 8 from which they still waited a bit for one to mature.Out of the 8 had 7 fertilised and 5 made it to blastocyst stage, had 4 5BB and one 5BC ( no AA/AB).I was a bit dissapointed with the grading but still good fertilisation rate (we done ICSI).

Aww thanks for your reply! My eggs still weren’t big enough by day 10 scan so they’ve given me a couple more days. I’m eager for egg collection so hopefully it’s soon.
