Blastocyst died before biopsy

Dear all,

I’m so devastated that my D6 4BB embryos did not survive just after taking the cells for PGT test, and another 4CB one become 4CC after the same process, it never happened before during my previous cycles, and this cycle got the worst result ever, I’ve done previous3 cycles all 100% fertilised, and all blast were good quality, no C grade, no day 6/7, but this time only 37% fertilised and all poor quality, the only good ones 4BB died just after taking cells, same lab but probably not the same embryologist, this cycle was only 2 months apart from last cycle

my question is: is it related to the embryologist? Or the lab? Or different protocols result in different embryo quality? Coz it’s very hard to accept the result as it’s so big different from last few cycles, any advice would be much appreciated thanks!

Hope you have people around you for support Have you taken advantage of the counselling appointment you should be offered while on treatment ? Might be an idea to discuss the concerns you mention in the post with your clinic /embryologist .

Take care of yourself

Hi, so sorry to hear this. I would say it's down to the skill of the embryologist. This rarely happens even with a low quality embryo. It was good enough to be biopsied so should have survived. Sorry.

I have done 2 transfer with good embryo no success yet but my specialist told us to not to do the teat on the blast Because this could damage the embryos so we didn’t test them maybe this is not helpful but that is what my specialist said and because we just got one AA in my first cycle and 2 in the second we could take the risk
