I'm due to see my consultant next week and have been doing some research (I know the dreaded google lol) into NK cells, I don't know a lot about it but I've been reading how they can affect implantation.
I fell pregnant from my fresh cycle and miscarried and have since had 2 unsuccessful FET cycles both with good quality embryos, the last cycle 1 was even hatching and the embryologist was so excited that it needed to 'be back where it belonged.' However they don't seem to stick..
Does anyone have any advice or had any testing for this?
Thank you in advance x

I had the natural killer cells blood test done last year. I paid £400. My NK cell are raised at 12%- normal range is under 10%. As it's not over 15% my consultant doesn't believe it'll prevent conception but will prescribe low dose of steroids once I'm confirmed to be pregnant.
I would confirm with your consultant with test they prefer- the biospy or the blood test- each will have a preference. Mine preferred the biospy- but will go with my test.
I don't blame you for wanting to run further tests.
Thank you for you reply, can I ask did you have to pay because your paying privately for treatment or is it something the NHS won't fund to be tested? X
Its a test that the NHS will not fund. But the good news is NHS will fund treatment which is a low dose steroid if you need it. Hope that helps a bit. I'm also at an NHS fertility clinic.
Thank you it does, least that's something that they fund the treatment. It's definitely got to be worth paying for the test if it could help future ET x
After our last miscarriage we spoke with the GP about wanting additional tests..the consultant we asked to see did nk blood tests amongst others ones, but there is mixed opinions about what is best. Some people say the biopsy can change every month...who knows what is right! There are quite a few people on here that have been to Coventry to have the biopsy done.
Sorry to hear you miscarried, I know I wish I did to would make it a lot easier if someone did hey! It's definitely something I'm going to speak to my consultant about next week x
Just don't be surprised if your consultant poo hoo's things like that as they aren't all believers!
Hi there,
I have looked into this. Made enquiries with the clinic in Coventry who do the tests and they have sent me information. If you want to send me a PM with your email address I can forward it to you.
I decided against going to have it done as I have read that the results can differ from month to month so 1 month your levels could be normal and the next they could be raised.
My consultant did not think there was enough research into it as yet (although I did think he was a bit of a numpty).
I am having a treatment abroad and it's not something they recommend.
Hello! Please look back on one of my last few posts as I had mine done at Tommys in Coventry 18months ago and what's happened between then and now with their research. It's all listed in that post xx
