First BFN and Chemical Pregnancy

Hi, we had our very first bfn last Saturday. We were completely over the moon as this was after our second transfer and 1st frozen. I thought I saw the tiniest speck of blood on Friday but this seemed to have disappeared over the weekend. For some reason we felt we wanted to test again just for peace of mind. We did and it was a negative. We went to an emergency gyna clinic who couldn’t do a blood test but their test was also negative. I’ve now been told to stop all meds and hopefully have a follow up this week. We’re so gutted it’s ended in a chemical. Has anyone else experienced this? Feeling very lost x

Do you mean BFP rather than BFN? I had a chemical on my 4th transfer. It’s very harsh and feels like the dream is dangled in front of you then snatched away right? I tried to take comfort from the fact something happened after 3 BFNs.

Apologises yes I meant BFP. Yeah I’m holding onto the fact something must have happened but it’s heartbreaking. This was my first ever BFP and now I’m just waiting for a period. So cruel.

So sorry to read this - a chemical in some ways is worse than a BFN as you have that carrot of hope dangled in front of you.

As Doodlebug23 says, I tried to take comfort in the fact that the embryo did implant, it just didn't continue to grow - this is likely a chromosomal issue rather than anything else - there's nothing you could have done differently.

So I had a successful pregnancy (6th FET) before I had my chemical (8th transfer). Prior to that I had nothing but BFNs. x
