I've just had PGT-A results and am really relieved to have four normal (of 12 sent, with a lot of attrition from 28 mature retrieved and 22 fertilised). I did not enjoy that TWW at all!
I have a consultant appointment on Friday to talk next steps before FET and tbh I have found it hard to get much from the Dr we're assigned to, so want to go armed with questions.
I know a lot of you are more experienced than me (first cycle), so anything you can suggest would be super appreciated.
All I have so far is:
Confirming order we will try embryos in
Next scan I think is day two or three of period - what will it look for?
No meds before then?
What meds will I be on and why?
How many days on those, what scan checks?
When transfer, and depending on what?
I know there will be a lot I'm not thinking of.
Thanks so much 🩷

hi I'd ask about if there are invetsigations needed before a transfer? Ie emma, alice and era test? Any previous implantation issues what is their view on that?
Hi. Do I need my Fallopian tubes checked, if not already done, prior to transfer, in case of lubrication leak into the womb, possibly preventing implantation. Have you had a hysteroscopy to check womb. Do you need any blood thinner. All the best and hope all goes well. Diane
Congratulations on the 4, I know it feels like a lot to lose considering your numbers but that's a great result out of 12!
Have you spoken about EMMA/ALICE/ERA, also nk cell testing and blood clotting tests?
I'm currently waiting for PGT-A results and if we get any normal embryos from it will be doing all of the above first before just trying transfers again (we've had 4 failed transfers). My consultant has suggested other tests too which I can't remember right now!
They might just want you to try a transfer before doing any testing so you want to weigh up the options of spending a lot of money on tests vs having testing done for yourself.
I don't know your age but have you discussed transferring multiple embryos?
Can't think of anything else. Also as a bit of reassurance a frozen transfer is lot easier than what you've been through for your egg collection in terms of drugs/time. Good luck!
Thanks so much, this is really helpful and kind! I've had blood clotting tests, but not the others, so will definitely ask. I'm 39, and I think the clinic policy is to transfer one only, but I will double check on that. I think possibly if younger and with a lot of embryos to spare, two is considered then? Thank you so much for the reassurance too! I found the egg collection so scary in the lead up. All of these unknowns and anticipation, such a drain isn't it. I am really sorry to hear about your transfers so far, you must feel absolutely exhausted. Sending you lots of luck and love for your results, and thanks again 🩷
