We are 22 weeks along with twins which is very exciting. We started the process a year and half ago but the first two chances failed and on our 3rd and final chance it stuck! The talk about them not allowing it started a couple of months after we signed our contract but our team reassured us and so far nothing actually did happen and we were able to continue and have all 3 of our tries take place.
Hey, so it took on average 1 to 2 months to find the surrogate but not longer. They would do retrieval and freeze and then when they found it would be inserted. It will cost (not that I kept track very well) around 45,000 USD for the contract/surrogate, etc. This doesn't include your medication for the IVF and your travel costs (but Georgia is cheap to stay and travel to). Probably all in around 55,000 to 60,000 USD. But with twins it's a little extra cost to the surrogate, and if they have to have any NICU time that will also be extra. Keeping in mind we did like 8 IVF before this and had already put quite a bit of money. My mom calls it our million dollar baby
you mum has a great sence of humour!! unfortunately those who come to surrogacy already have many years of ivf behind. what will be the procedure after the birth?
Hey, so as mentioned it depends on your country of citizenship. But georgia on the birth certificate you are mentioned as the birth parents and then you apply for your country passport which can take time depending on which country. The company you go with usually help you with the paperwork.
Hello also in the middle of surrogacy in Georgia and had a great experience. Feel free to message me separately if you need any further info! Good luck
We found the wait time to find a surrogate is very short compared to other countries. The standard of medical care is very high and we have found that there are a lot more scans and tests for our surrogate during the pregnancy than in the UK. Our agency has a uk coordinator that has also had her own surrogacy journey in Georgia twice, and seeing that she had a positive experience is what swayed us.
Potential surrogates undergo lots of tests and screenings prior to being selected. Our first surrogate mother did not pass her initial medical tests, and so they immediately changed to our current. Whilst pregnant our surrogate has ultrasound scans every 10-14 days.
Hi lovely, there is a private Facebook group for intended parents in the UK who are looking at international surrogacy to share info and experiences etc, if you are interested I can DM you the details we were lucky enough to have a friend offer for us in UK but I know of several people who have had successful journeys abroad, in South America, US and other parts of Europe xx
