TWW bleeding/chemical?

Hi lovely network,I'm 11dp5dt today and woke up with red blood. I've had brown/pink spotting Weds/Thurs then red blood (but not full period - intermittent) Fri and now Sat again. I'm not due to test until Mon and said to myself I wouldn't be that person, but I've been testing since Weds 🤦🏼‍♀️ It's still positive. Although I think quite faint? Attached is today's.

I rang the nurse Thursday and she said up the progesterone from 2 to 3 a day. It's since I upped it that I'm now getting red blood.

I know it's probably a chemical, but part of me wonders is there something I could be doing to keep this/make it work? After a miscarriage 2 years ago and nothing since it feels like my body is just letting me down again.

Any tips or anyone who has received advice in the same situation? I will ring the nurse again today, although they make me feel like I shouldn't and to just wait. But I can't help thinking I could be doing something differently 😞

Big love and support to everyone else right now xx

It is so worrying to get bleeding. But it isn’t always a bad sign. That looks quite strong line to me for 11dp5dt. Would your clinic agree to a progesterone and HCG test? You might benefit from adding Lubion to the pessaries? Just something to ask about. Knowing your actual blood HCGs over two tests over 48 hours may provide some more information (though doesn’t change the outcome). But please don’t feel this is all on you. You are doing everything in your power to make this work and are doing amazingly. I really hope it works out well for you xx

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond ♥️ They've discussed none of those things with me. I feel like maybe because this round is NHS? But I'd happily pay for tests privately. I have a feeling I'll get the 'just wait until Monday's again. And then surely it will be another 1-2 weeks before I'm seen 😞 But now I have things I can enquire about so thank you xx

Glad I could.

Many clinics use 11dp5dt for official test day. Blood HCG at 9dp5dt is seen as accurate (in published papers in well renowned journals) and then urine home pregnancy test 2 days later as it takes time for the amount circulating in blood ti tell in the urine. I hope you have some luck with your clinic.

Even if sadly worst case scenario this little one doesn't make it, checking your progesterone now might help guide future cycles as some people on pessaries still have only low levels and need injections to top up. I think NHS aren’t great about this but will sometimes agree to private prescriptions. The HCG testing is something you could do privately if they won’t but it’s best to have medical support to interpret the result. It’s better than madly squinting at sticks which aren’t meant to be quantitative xx

Absolutely! That's so informative thank you. This forum seems to be the only way I can get information as the clinic tells me nothing, it's infuriating. Thank you xx

Hi DogMum7,

My heart goes out to you - bleeding is so scary. What I would say is, however, that I agree with Endofitall in that it is a very strong line. I had a chemical last month and it was a whisper of a line that lessened as the days went on. Absolutely agree that hcg tests can help you tell what is going on much clearer. There are plenty of private clinics that will do same day results for an hcg test and it could well be worth going to get one as soon as you can, even just to feel like you are doing something proactive.

Really hoping it works out well for you this time xx

Thank you so much and sorry to hear about your chemical. It's heartbreaking after the procedures meds and then the wait. Hope you get your happy ever after ♥️ xxx
