Update following egg retreaval.

Hi all had my first egg collection on Friday 11th in all they collected 23 eggs 19 of which have fertilised 😃. I had to stay abit longer than intended due to vomitting and being unable to wee was then put on a drip and managed to pee so was then discharged . Since then I have been severely bloated in the abdomen and appear to have put 4lbs on within a day not sure if it's just water retention or ohs which I am at high risk of spoke with the nurses over the phone today and said bloating can be quite normal. Just a bit concerned that I've put 4lbs on in like a day but forgot to mention the weight gain to the nurse . Has anyone experienced similar following egg collection ?

Hi I've also had my egg retrieval yesterday and feeling like a balloon 🎈 I know this is normal for me as it's my second cycle. If I were you I wouldn't hesitate to give them a call and tell them of your concerns, better to be safe than sorry mention the gain in weight and see what they suggest They are there to help you😉

hey! That’s completely normal (well it was for me too)

I put on so much weight over my egg retrieval / whole ivf process tfb. Possibly even more than 4lbs! My stomach was sooo bloated I’m I couldn’t do trousers up and I looked 6 months pregnant lol!

I think it’s a mixture of the meds, hormaones etc. it’s a massive change to your body! It will eventually calm down slightly.

Given your risk of OHSS if you’ve noticed that much weight gain in one day please seek advice from your clinic. Best to have them say not a problem then become ill and not seek advice. Hope you feel better soon!
