Egg collection

Egg collection finally done! I feel relieved and sad at the same time.

16 collected - just waiting on calls over the next few days 🤞🏽 then freeze all until the world gets back to normal which is hopefully sooner rather than later.

Due to low sperm count on the day we have been changed to ICSI ? Not sure whether this is good, bad or makes any difference ? 😣

Hey Hun- great number well done! How are you feeling? ICSI is much better, it means that a sperm is injected into the egg by the embryologist so fertilisation rates are much higher 😉fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻

Thank you! I’m feeling so sore I had to have a sleep I felt exhausted after lol 🤣.

I hope loads make it to the end to freeze so I don’t have to go through that again now I know what to expect!! Xxx

Congratulations for getting to egg collection, especially in these mental times. ICSI is fine - just means they have chosen the sperm to put in to the eggs (in the hope of fertilisation). I found it gave me peace of mind to know that my husband's sperm weren't having to find those eggs by themselves, but then you have to weigh that up with the fact that the sperm is chosen, so it's not natural selection... But then they choose the best eggs! So it's not too different. I can imagine you were really wanting to transfer, and so this must be beyond disappointing, but I'm so glad you got to egg collection and all the embryos will be tucked up safe and sound frozen. xxxx

Well done, 16 is an amazing number! Dont worry about the ICSI thing, its commonly used in IVF and lots of clinics only use ICSI. It takes the chance risk of the sperm not making it to the egg out of the equation! Rest up, drink lots of a water and take it easy. Good luck for those calls.xx

Aw that's fantastic news! 16 is great!! I did ICSI with mine, my clinic offers it for free because they don't think it should be optional. Best of luck for your phone calls!! 🙏🤞 xxxx

Thank you!! 💛 had my first call he got all 16 fertilised and said it went very smoothly - so just a waiting game for the next couple days. Hopin as many as possible make it to the end to freeze so I don’t have to do that again lol! Xxx
