Bleeding at 5 weeks

Hi ladies 5wks+2 and just passed bright red blood, several wipes and it was in the bowl when I passed urine. It might be easing up but I'm terrified about what it means. I think I feel slightly crampy. We are on holiday....seems so stupid now, should I get myself to a hospital? xx

Hiya, I had a bleed around the same time after my transfer. So I went to the hospital and I was given injection to stop the bleed. When I was scanned, I was told I was miscarraging one of my twins. But the following week when I was 6weeks and a few days, I had another scan and there was two heart beats. I will advise that you get yourself checked.i know the hospitals in uk won't scan you until 6 weeks. I did mine abroad. Wish you best of luck and I hope the bleed won't be anything serious.

Thanks Zari, glad to hear your twins are going strong 🧡 thankfully the bleeding stopped and a scan showed the gestational sac and yolk vesicle, big sigh of relief for now! 😍

Hi try2020 I had quite a heavy bleed at 5 and a half weeks after my FET. No idea it was coming, I just went to the loo then when I went to wipe there was quite a lot of bright red blood, the loo bowl was pink. It was the scariest feeling in the world. I immediately laid down and called the clinic. As it was so early they couldn’t scan me, but they upped my cyclogest to 4 times a day and I started daily lubion injections. I also self medicated bed rest for the week before my first scan. I had quite painful cramps and passed a couple of large clots, the bleeding eased over a couple of days. I was convinced I was miscarrying and had started getting everything I thought I needed if I was going to miscarry again. Went for the scan with little to no hope and my miracle baby was there with a strong heartbeat. I am now 16 and a half weeks. I was told bleeding was quite common with FET’s and what I might consider a heavy bleed a medical expert might disagree. I would call your clinic and ask if there’s anything they can recommend? They should be able to email you a prescription if they think you should take anything extra. Really hoping for a positive outcome for you xx

Thanks Tilly, so glad to hear all is well with you now! Yes I think I went into a bit of shock at first, haven't had any sleep but thankfully the hospital did an exam, bleeding has stopped and a scan showed the gestational sac and a yolk vesicle so everything looks normal for this stage. They think the bleeding was due to some holiday rumpy pumpy with my husband 🤦‍♀️ I did speak to my clinic this morning and they suggested I get betas but turns out they don't do them here....I asked my clinic about testing my progesterone but they said not to, I'm on 2 x cyclogest and 2 x lubion already and they have said before I wouldn't get more than that.... xx

That’s great news and fingers crossed everything’s progressing as it should be! So glad you got some reassurance and yes it sounds like you’re on enough progesterone already, so that’s good. Haha my poor husband has been on a ban until I got to the 13 weeks, starting to try and feel a bit more confident in my body so he might get the green light occasionally! Best of luck at your next scan and keep us posted xx

Thanks Tilly 🥰 yes I think a similar ban is in order now 🤣 I booked a private scan for 7wks so hopefully will see the embryo next time if all goes well 🤞🤞 enjoy the green light when it's on 😍😍 xx

I'm 5 weeks plus 4 today and started bleeding this morning. I rang clinic and they said it was normal and they weren't worried. Anyway when I wiped again there was small slots so I totally panicked currently sat at EPU and they have scanned me and confirmed the pregnancy sac is there and everything as they would expect at this stage. They can't explain why I'm bleeding just one of those things. Hope this helps and good luck to you too xxx

Hi Emmanev1 so sorry to hear you have gone through the same, it's horrendous, glad to hear all looks normal though 🧡 I think my bleeding was due to a bit too much fun in the bedroom.... hope all continues well with you xx
