6w pregnant and spots

Hello everyone, I’m 6 weeks pregnant and for the past two days I’ve noticed light pink and brownish spots on my underwear. I don’t have any particular pain, and my doctor told me to add some progesterone injections (I’m already on therapy since this is an IVF pregnancy). I don’t know what to think, I’m really scared... My first appointment is on September 25, and they told me it’s not worth going to the ER unless I see red bleeding. Has this happened to anyone? Thank you."

It could be 2 things which don't mean the worse- progesterone suppositories irritatiing your cervix or sch which is also very common in ivf pregnancies. I had the same and still spotting at 10 weeks with some heavier bleeding in between. You will get more answers during your scan. If you very worried you can get a private scan to get reassurance.

Hi Cichy, I also had spotting at 6 weeks for a few days and went to the EPU for a scan. It was a subchorionic haematoma that caused the bleeding. For me the actual spotting stopped after a few days but the haematoma is still there and any bleeding currently is being absorbed by the body. In comparison to this, when I had a MMC around 6 weeks pregnant it was more like having a period. If you are worried, go to the early pregnancy unit and get a scan or get one privately. Good luck xxx

had quite a bit of bleeding with current pregnancy around that time for a few weeks but they couldnt see anything on the scan to cause it and said it just happens sometimes and they don’t know why. My clinic did scan me though so I would push to see if they can. I had horrendous bleeding with my son and it was a SCH that did eventually heal itself. Hope your scan goes okay 💜 xx

Hey x I had spotting on and off from week 6 to 12 with a small bleed at 7 weeks. I had quite a bit of cramping too.

As the others have said, unless it’s a full heavy bleed with clots try not to worry.

Easier said than done. It did scare me but it’s totally out of your control so just try and stay relaxed.

All the best for the rest of your pregnancy 💗💫

Hi. Could be a bit of infection. Drink lots of water and pass lots of clear urine. Maybe placenta kicking in. Take all prescribed medications including folic acid, and avoid constipation. Get checked out. Good. Diane

hey hun, i had the same on week 6, i had huge blood clots. Could be the progesterone. Until you are not having pain, everything should be fine. I did a private scan, costing me £80, it was worth doing. Take care xxx

Hi! Today I'll do my private scan. I'm so scared tò get there and hear "Sorry buy there is nothing in here". I'm so scared that I can't even wake myself from the couch and do basical things like wash myself or Cook something, I call in sick at work for two days in a row. My mental health Is damaged, after 4 years of IVF and One miscarriage, I feel I Need to take care of myself and protect myself from and eventual pain.
