12 weeks pregnant using Letrozole (Femara)

Hi everyone,

A bit of history: I’m 38, husband 40 and we’ve been having unexplained infertility for around 3 years; first natural pregnancy after an abondonrd IUI, it ended in having just an empty sac; then moved to IVF, which resulted in BFN, but had 4 frosties left. Then went to see a specialist outside UK who told me not to go for frozen transfer and try Femara (Letrozole) for 3 months. First month of using Femara ended in a pregnancy, but sadly an empty sac again! So 2 months after the miscarriage I tried the second cycle of Femara. This resulted in another pregnancy, currently 12 months.

I honestly don’t know if it was the meds doing the job, but I just wanted to tell my story and recommend it to ladies with unexplained infertility. Sending love to all xx

Thank you very much Diane. I know Letrozole is not very common in the UK, but I just it might help someone else as well xx

Thanks a lot Jess; I know we still have a long way to go; but I’m happy we’ve had more than an empty sac this time :) x
