Just checking in to see if anyone has experienced something similar!
I had an egg collection 2 weeks ago, which managed one successful egg (I had a cyst that was affecting the whole process so wasn't a great cycle). They decided to delay the transfer until my next period to give my body time to recover.
I have come on my period last night, and I've had such bad pain today that I almost passed out and was crying out in pain, as well as extremely heavy bleeding! I have endometriosis so I am used to bad pain, but not had it this bad in years! I vaguely remember the clinic saying my period would be worse this time because of all the hormones and possibly my cyst, but just wondered if this was "normal" or happened to anyone else, before I call my doctor, don't want to waste anyone's time!
Thanks so much xx

Because of meds hormones levels are high and the lining usually gets thicker This in turn can cause your period to be heavier and more uncomfortable It should settle down If any concerns please get in touch with your clinic
Yup, me! Had my EC on 7th December and my period arrived yesterday and it’s still heavy although slightly less painful. My normal period lasts 3 days and it’s usually very mild.
Ok pleased to hear it's not abnormal to have a more intense period! I guess as I have bad periods anyway, this just turned up the notch even higher! I hope you feel better soon!xx
Hi, yea I've had v bad periods after egg collection. Your body has been through soooo much so please go ease on yourself and be gentle with yourself. Do what you want and what you are able for over these next few days- don't be "powering through" just to save face or because you think you have to. Your body needs rest so rest up xx
