mthfr? How has this effected your pregnancy? Im scared about the babies outcomes? Anyone had healthy babies and pregnancies?

found out i am heterozygous for a1298c other is 0 mutation . I had a baby with a cleft lip and palate and lost at 21 weeks. Has anyone got the mthfr and had healthy babies.

Ivf pregnancy 27 pcos . N

hello! I’m so sorry for your loss. Though it can increase the chances of miscarriage, luckily the mutation you have is the least bad and generally has very little effect on anything. So it is unlikely to have caused these issues.

I am homozygous C677T which is the worst one to be and I have a healthy 5 month old. Though I did use blood thinners in pregnancy as my mutation can increase blood clotting chances.

Just a good idea to make sure you are taking folate in the l-methylfolate form and not the folic acid form as all MTHFR gene mutations hinder the body’s ability to process folic acid unless in the more natural form.
