Hoping for some help with getting my head around this new information.
Backstory: I am now the 43 year old mother of a healthy 22 month old little girl, which was conceived following 11 rounds of IVF.
We transfered our 2 last embryos on 17 July (5 day old blastocysts) and I tested today, only to receive a 39 hcg level on day 13 post transfer. Including the day of transfer, that is 14 days (did I even calculate the 2WW correctly?).
I forwarded the results to my clinic, and waiting to hear from my doctor probably later this evening, which is at least a 6 hr wait.
What does this measument mean? I am pregnant? Am I not pregnant? Did I MC? Am I about to MC?
Could such levels lead to a viable pregnancy?
I feel so lost...

Just wanted to let you know thinking of you - hope you hear from the clinic soon May want to repeat the blood in a couple of days to see if it has increased
how did u go I am 14 and 1 day my results yesterday were 63 only 1 transferred grade 1 embroy I am 44 ure not out I am testing again Friday i think its not a 0 so it maybe just a slow starter my kids are 14 and 13 so these embroys are that old think positive strangely enough I feel so calm and relaxed im usually bat shit crazy
Ι needed to hear that, 44carrots, I hope everything goes well for you.
The clinic did say that the only way to really know is to wait and see how this embryo behaves, which means retesting on Thursday to see if hcg levels go up or down. They advised me to keep up with the progesterone pessaries until then and then test for both hcg and progesterone levels.
I was quite upset because I had some implantation spotting and was sure this transfer had worked; I did not expect to be so confused by the results. We transfered 2 embryos (5 day-old blastocysts), which ideally should start off with a hcg of 300. Now I'm getting my head around all possible outcomes and hoping for the best. It might be a slow starter, you are right.
I'll be thinking of you and hoping all goes well for you too.
I’m in australia and they never tranfer two it’s such a conspiracy I think today is thurday 6.30am and my full pain is here again yesterday not so good so hopefully it’s all multiplying - (no spitting) I did with my 14 year old but it was huge not just a spotting when are u retesting - are u still seeing a line on home tests I haven’t tested yet
It’s Thursday 00.20 am here in Greece. I’ll be testing at around 8 am and should have the results a few hours later. I haven’t home tested either. I had done a trigger shot, so there was really no point. I might home test before my blood work results, just to brace myself for any outcome. I have zero symptoms, though, so I think the odds are pretty bleak for me. It sounds like your intuition says otherwise. Wouldn’t it be nice if it worked out for both of us? 🤍
That's great new, 44carrots! How exciting! Wishing you all the best!
My clinic doesn't think there is much point in pushing it much further. They are barely able to retrieve a single egg in each cycle (we've tried all types of different types of medication) and now the quality seems to have fallen as well. We were lucky to have our little one after 11 cycles. Two years later 2 rounds of IVF only resulted in 2 embryos that looked viable - at least one implanted but is not going forward.
Maybe the question "when to quit"? warrants another thread... <3
They could. The key is to-retest after 48 hours and see if it’s doubled. Hopefully the clinic will get you back in for tests. And yes, you calculated correctly, it was13dp5dt yesterday. Good luck! Xx
