Hi all, as I will be preparing for my 5th FET, for a quick recap we are trying for a sibling now, my 1st ever transfer gave us our DS, 2nd FET ended in 8w MC, 3rd in chemical, 4th didn't stick.
This will be my 3rd FET this year and I am just doubting myself that it will ever work.
I was thinking about adding to the new protocol embryo glue for transfer and maybe progesterone injections?
This time I will also be doing downregulation again like I had with the transfer which ended up successful (suggestion of my consultant that it is worth trying).
Did anyone tried embryo glue and it made a difference? HFEA is Amber for embryo glue as there is not much evidence of it doing much difference?

our clinic dont do the glue but my friends successful round she used this. It doesn’t do any harm as far as I can see so worth a go if it’s in your budget? Lubion injections really helped my progesterone levels and stopped bleeding before test day so I would say those are worth the expense if you think there is at all chance of progesterone not being stable enough, especially in a down reg cycle where you dont produce your own. Xx
Hi Twiglet2, thabk you for your response. This is why I don't know if I need extra progesteron injections because with my successful round I was fine with just pessaries and it was over 3 years ago, but with the last transfers thar each if them were less and less successful I asked my clinic if they could check my progesterone (after BFN at OTD) but they said that it would be irrelevant and the best way would be to check it just before the transfer but I don't want this gamble to wait and then find out that my progesterone was too low or ok.
I was the same my wee boy is 3 and I just had the pessaries (FET down reg) but trying for a sibling had a few negatives and early losses so added lubion and last time it stuck until 10 weeks before I miscarried and my progesterone was checked and well above what was required so at least I know it wasn’t that! I did have some early before test day bleeds though so you might not need it but they said can’t be too much progesterone so I thought why not! Xx
Hello, I just had a BFP on my 7th embryo transfer. This time we added embryo glue and started both steroids and progesterone injections on day zero before transfer, instead of day of transfer. I was also on Progynova, utrogestan and blood thinning injections. Am currently just over 8 weeks pregnant.
fresh transfer got a bfp no glue - chemical. Two frozen transfers with glue = two baby boys. Our thinking was it’s cheaper to try the glue that it would be for a fresh round of ivf+icsi!
After two early losses we used embryo glue and lubion injections on our first FET and that was successful. But on exactly the same protocol I got a BFN trying for a sibling so it's not a guarantee. Our clinic uses embryo glue as standard on FETs and there's no extra cost and their leaflet said there's not much evidence it works but it doesn't harm so worth it - not sure I would have paid much for it, but as it worked first time and included would do again. Same with the lubion - I think a big issue was progesterone and I started on one injection before transfer and a few days later started on two a day as my progesterone was still on the low side. My consultant said you can't have too much but it is expensive (especially two a day for 10 weeks!) so you could get your levels checked on just the pessaries and then add in injections if the levels aren't optimal.
