Okay. So I recently had a second miscarriage via IVF (first mc was a natural pregnancy three years ago but no pregnancies since and 3 failed iuis and a failed fresh transfer) my doctor wants me to take time off and get recurrent loss testing done. Obviously I don't want to take time off I want to try to get pregnant ASAP. Granted it probably won't happen naturally anyways... Would it be absolutely idiotic to try? I just feel like they won't have any answers as to why I miscarried again. And I know they say you have the best chance of pregnancy within 3 months of the mc. Am I being an idiot?

Someone tell me I'm being crazy
No it's not silly it's entirely your choice what you want to do.
Best of luck!
Thank you!
Nope not mad at all. I would do the same to be honest. I had 3 losses by now and every time I wanted to start as soon as I can. My last one was a chemical in May and I wanted to have FET in June but my consultant refused and told me to have a month break which felt like a lifetime 🙈
Hope you are doing well 💗 💗💗💗💗
The months do feel like an eternity! I am so sorry for your losses. Did you do a fet in July?
Absolutely!
I started medicated fet with my July period. And of course period was late and showed up on 31st July so I started progynova 1st August and I'm having my transfer on Tuesday at 12.40 xxx 🤞🤞🤞🤞🌈🌈🌈💗💗🥰🥰
You’re not mad and we all totally understand why you want to just keep trying. However, if there are tests that you can have which might shed any light on your mc’s then would you not be better off knowing about that so you next ivf cycle could be adapted to give you better odds?
For example, some clinics give anti blood clotting drugs along with higher progesterone support if there’s any indication that low progesterone after transfer might be contributing to a higher risk of mc going forward? Also have you been checked for uterine fibroids or any tube blockages, both of which can disrupt successful implantation or development in the early stages.
Sorry if I’m stating the obvious as I appreciate I don’t know about what you may already have had checked out, and ultimately ttc is a numbers game so the more you do it supposedly your odds should get better of getting to a live birth, however there is something to be said in making sure you’re on top of all the possible variables so you’re going into the next cycle with the best chance possible.
If having extra tests take a couple of months, yes at the time it can feel like an impossibly excruciating wait, but looking at the bigger goal here is to make sure you have a successful and healthy pregnancy so it really depends on whether you feel it’s worth it in the grand scheme of the ultimate aim here.
Wishing you all the good luck and baby dust whatever you choose to do xx
I agree with what everyone else has said and ultimately it’s up to what you feel most comfortable with.
If you do decide to take time out to go through the tests you could use the time to get yourself as healthy and prepared for your next cycle as possible. Maybe look at diet, exercise, stress etc or a few supplements or lifestyle changes? The book It starts with the egg has some great ideas. It may help you feel that you are still making progress and not wasting your time especially if the tests don’t find anything.

That's a really good idea♥️. My levels have dropped to 75 and I'm still waiting on my first period. I'm back in the gym but certainly eat a lot of bread and cheese and drink a lot of coffee. It's also frustrating cause other people treat their bodies like shit and still get pregnant on their own! Thank you for your advice!
That’s ok! I literally wrote a list of things to work on after my mc in January. I do like a plan as it gives me the illusion of being in control! We didn’t go over the top with it at all, just tried to cook from scratch more, eat more protein, fruit and veg etc but still enjoyed the odd piece of cake or glass of wine.
Good luck xxx
Just to add that I’ve heard lots of people say “you’re more fertile after a mc” but having looked into it I couldn’t find any research which actually backed this up.
For me, miscarriage testing did give us answers and we found out what was causing the problem, thankfully we were able to do something different and now we have a baby. So I know this isn’t the case for everyone but you can see my story on my page if you want to.
That's a really good point. I just read your bio and am so happy for you and really appreciate that you still log on to this website to help others. For us we had a d&c and the baby was normal (first mc was due to septum) so it's likely me or a "fluke". Tbh I am hoping they do find something so maybe they can change my meds next time around?
