1st time IVF-er! When do periods start after failed transfer?

I'm 11DP5DT on my first round of IVF FET and it's a big fat negative for me.... gutted.

I'm wondering when periods start following a failed transfer? Should they happen around the same time as 'normal' or is there an expected delay or do they only start when you stop taking the hormones? Can't seem to find an answer online.

It can vary as the extra hormones can really upset your menstrual cycle Hope you have people around you for support Keep talking to your OH

Take care

mine started early due to failed transfer, but my next cycle ended up being 32 days, when I was usually 26-28 day cycle. So it can definitely upset things, as Janet says x

I’m so sorry to hear that- it can vary but normally a few days after you stop the meds you should have a withdrawal bleed. Your next months cycle might be a little out of time too (shorter or longer) as your body resets xx

So sorry, I know how rough it can be. Mine started about three days after stopping my supporting meds (progesterone and estrogen).

Thanks all. I'm now at a point where I'm looking forward to OTD so I can stop the meds and let my body recover... until the next attempt!

Hi. Sorry to hear about your news, I know how devastating it can be. I’ve got my period literally on the day or the day after my negative test. Take care and wish you all the best x
