I have received a call from the clinic this morning to tell me that my two embryos are not developing well. They are day 3 and currently 4 cell and a 1 cell. She offered to transfer the 4 cell today but said the chances of implantation are “highly unlikely”. She suggested that they stay in culture and see if they catch up by day 5. She said the chances of that are slim though.
I’m absolutely gutted but mainly numb. I’m so scared this will never happen for us (it’s our second round).
Has anyone had a slow day 3 turn into a usable day 5???
Thank you for listening xx

I don't have experience of this myself but just wanted to say I am thinking of you. The waiting is so tough and it will drive you nuts. Take advice from your clinic and do what feels right for you x
I had a slow embryo, they didn’t offer me day 3 transfer but said it would be unlikely I’d have anything to transfer. But on day 5 it had progressed a bit, still too underdeveloped to grade but they transferred it on day 5. No one thought it’d work but it did! Good luck, I know how stressful and disheartening it all is.
Hi. All I can say, is years ago, we did all Da3 transfers with few cells, as we didn’t have the expertise to grow them on. We had to wait for them to catch up, but still ha successes. Hopefully yours will catch up ready for a successful transfer. Thinking of you. Diane
