Struggling- spotting 3 days before OTD

hi lovely warriors, I hope you’re all keeping strong and hopeful on this journey x I wish you all the luck for your journeys xx

My OTD is Monday, from yesterday evening I’ve had spotting with some red blood, it’s not loads , as it’s not coming to the panty liner but it is still there today.

This is similar to how my period normally starts , I’m usually very regular and my period is not due until the 11th , could this be it ? Shall I count myself out ?

I was planning to test until OTD but this is torture! This had not happened to me before (4th transfer) and I’m now really worried after having been very positive. Has this happened to anyone before ? Did you know what could cause this ?

I’ve taken an extra Cyclogest, as I’ve had low progesterone on the past 2 FET, I asked if I would need the Lubion like last time and they said no, because on fresh transfer I should be producing my own . I’m really struggling to remain positive until OTD, I didn’t need this extra drama on this emotions rollercoaster.

thank you for sharing your experiences

hey it could mean anything I’m afraid (periods, irritation of the cervix, implantation or even a hematoma I e experienced them all!) the only way to get any idea of what’s going on is to test I’m afraid lovely 🤗 good luck xx 🤞🏽 (ps there’s no prizes for waiting it out until the random day your clinic has made up so test on the day that suits your mental health best)

Hi Twiglet, I hope all is well on your end xx , thank you so much for taking the time to respond and share your experience. Ahh You never know what surprises you’re going to get with each treatment isn’t it , I’m going to wait to test until tomorrow but I’m not feeling very positive , I think this could be my period although it would be like a week early. When you got period earlier did they explain why it happened? Just trying to prepare for the review appointment and be more informed, thanks again for all your kind words and for sharing your knowledge xx

They thought it was low progesterone for me and I’m on the lubion as well as pessaries for fresh and frozen transfers now and that has at least stopped that! Good luck for tomorrow 🤗🤞🏽 💜 xxx

Thank you very much Twiglet, I know it could be multiple reasons but I do have track of low progesterone and I asked if I would need to Lubion , they said no because I should be producing my own , I feel silly now I should have done an extra Pessary or something ..

Yeah you produce your own in fresh transfers but it’s an extra precaution I guess to stop the early bleeding it can honestly be anything though I did have bleeding on my successful one xx

It happened to me on my second fresh transfer and although that was a BFP it was never very strong and ended early. My consultant said you shouldn't getting spotting at that stage (just before OTD) if progesterone is doing its job properly. I was on cyclogest for that one so for the next transfer (a FET) he put me on utrogestan and lubion and that was succesful. But equally I've had three other transfers, two BFP and one BFN where I didn't get the spotting around OTD so I don't think there's a strong link, just if you've had low progesterone it may be worthwhile adding/trying more and different forms as apparently it can't hurt.

hi MrsOrangejuice thank you very much for sharing this , I wish I had pushed harder for more progesterone, I did ask the consultant and she didn’t think I’d need it , then up to Wednesday I was feeling progesterone symptoms like the sore boobs so I was happy that at least that was telling me the Cyclogest had worked , then I had the surprise on Thursday evening, so I’ll definitely raise this to be on the cautious side next time , like you said there’s never too much progesterone xx
