Cetrotide panic - blood on withdrawal of needle

Hi,I'm in a bit of a panic as I had quite a big blob of blood when withdrawing needle after injecting cetrotide today. Typically it's Sunday and clinic is closed so I can't ring anyone for advice.

I saw the entire dose go into my stomach and know I probably nicked a capillary in the way out, but I'm just worried it won't have worked as well or absorbed correctly.

Can anyone give this worrier a bit of much needed reassurance?

That along with trying to keep my trigger injection at room temperature in this heat is driving me nuts!

Thank you xxx

hi lovely , I hope you’re well, is probably just a capillary like you said , the nurses told me this could happen, as long as you’re not bleeding still it should be all ok. This also happened to me a couple of times this week, it all worked fine and had egg collection on Friday. Wishing you all the best of luck !

My trigger was the fridge one (ovitrelle) maybe worth asking the nurses, if it’s better to put it on the fridge given the hot weather xx

Thank you lovely, so kind of you to respond.

I feel a bit better about it now and your response has helped too. Well done for getting through egg collection. I hope you are fairing up okay.

I have a cool box for my trigger as it has to be kept 'ambient'. (15-25). I'm checking temperature of the box regularly - probably overkill but it makes me feel better. I'd forgotten how tense stimulation rounds can be!

Thank you again. Sending love and luck to you too xxx

Keeping everything crossed for you. I know you'll be incredibly anxious - I'll be the same in a week or so, but you have done your best. Not easy when things feel so out of your control. Thinking of you and let me know how you get on. Sending positive vibes for a good result xxx
