Cetrotide on trigger day?

Hi everyone, my EC is scheduled for Wednesday and the nurse rang me today to tell me that I will trigger tomorrow but still need to take Cetrotide in the morning. I’m pretty sure she told me this but now I’m feeling like I’m going mad and I’m only 98% sure. I hope that ladies who were on short protocol could respond and let me know if this sounds right. I think I got a bit of an adrenaline rush when she told me about Wed as I was expecting it around Thursday or Friday. X

From memory I did take Cetritide as normal in the morning but to put your mind at rest give the clinic a call tomorrow. Good luck for egg collection. Xx

Thank you, I’m kind of sure she said I have to take it in the morning. I should have taken a better note! X

Aww it's easy to forget with all of the other things on our minds. Xx

Same for me.

I didn’t take mine on the day of my trigger but there may well be a reason for you to. The mind plays funny tricks on us! Give them a bell in the morning as you now have 2 conflicting answers 🤷‍♀️

Yes, I’m doubting myself even though I’m pretty sure I repeated it back to her with what I need to take tomorrow!

I was meant to be having EC tomorrow (Monday but is now delayed) and my instructions were:

Take cetrotide Sat at 7 pm

Triggers Sat at 23:30

EC Mon at 9:30.

If I were you I would call your clinic to double check as timings of drugs can be quite exact and different for different people or depending on the time booked for your EC. If you need to call out of hours call the emergency number.... the clinic's emergency number is there for exactly this kind of query xx

Thank you, were you taking Cetrotide in the mornings or evenings? X

I have been taking it every evening at around 10, it's only the very last one that will be a little earlier for me xx

Thanks and good luck for your EC. Do you know what day is going to be yet? X

Thank you and you too! I have no idea yet, I thought Friday would be my last day at the clinic before Monday's EC but due to my bloods they asked me to go in again yesterday, today and tomorrow. They need my oestrogen to decrease in oder to give me the triggers I need and it just keeps rising! I am desperate... even gonna pray tonight that my oestrogen is falling as we speak. If it's a good level tomorrow then my EC would also be wednesday 😊🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I have no idea what my oestrogen is, didn’t think to ask and they didn’t tell me. I hope yours will fall down so you can have your EC on Wednesday too! Will be looking out for your updates. Xx

I will keep you updated and I'm really hoping we're EC buddies on Wednesday 😊

The doctor explained they're monitoring oestrogen because gonassi will be one of my triggers, and for gonasi, oestrogen needs to be below a certain level otherwise there's a risk of OHSS. He said for other triggers it doesn't matter but I'm super keen to have gonasi, he said we might need to change triggers if oestrogen does not play ball soon 😥

It would be great if we were EC buddies 😊

I will be triggering with Gonasi5000 but they will tell me the instructions tomorrow. Originally I had to buy 2 triggers: Gonasi5000 and Gonasi2000&Suprecur in case I was overstimulated. 🤞the oestrogen drops by tomorrow xx

Thank you lovely... I'm also Gonasi5000 and suprecur! They want me to have 3 of the Gonasis + the Suprecur. They planned this combination because I had such low rate of mature eggs collected last cycle, said it might help! Xxx

How is the oestrogen level today? Will you be doing a trigger tonight 2x Gonasi5000. Xxx

Hi hon, sadly we won't be EC buddies on Wednesday 😭. Though my oestrogen levels have finally started to reduce today (hooray!) they are not low enough yet! I am really hoping it's Thursday as 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 oestrogen will be low enough tomorrow for Gonasi.

I shall be thinking of you! What time did you do your cetrotide? What time do you have your triggers? So excited for you xxx

Ok, we will be nearly EC buddies then 😉 Glad to hear that all is on track now. I did my Cetrotide at 7am this morning and will be doing trigger at 9pm tonight. Thank you 🌸 Fingers crossed for Thursday for you xxx

Hi there, I took cetrotide in the morning of my trigger injection. But as the others have said I’d give your clinic a call in the morning 💕xx

Thank you, I have actually just looked at the notes I was given and it clearly says “continue up to and including the day of trigger injection. Do not take Cetrotide the day after the trigger injection.” So I think I’m good now. But no doubt my mind is going crazy, must be all the hormones 😆 xx
