Hi i started day 1 of my period today called the clinic and they called me on day 4 of my period . I was really worried about this and they said they couldnt fit me in on the wednesday (day 3) and that it will be totally ok to start stimming on day 4?
I was really anxious and pleaded them to start on day 3 but they said it was not possible . I am really hoping this will not hinder our cycle . Has anyone started stimming on day 4? And had success is this not too late? Ive read everywhere that injections are to be done between day 2-3??
During my first cycle, I was booked for my first scan on Day 4 and started Menopur on the same day. I did 10 days of stims (including day of scan) and had the collection on Day 15 of my cycle. I got 4 mature eggs and 2 blastocysts out of it, which is pretty average they told me.
This time round I went in on Day 2 and did 11 days of stims with collection on Day 14. I got 5 mature eggs this time but I had several interim scans which helped with adjusting the dose as we went.
I don’t know if it’s that big of a deal starting on day 4 since they will control the whole process with various meds anyway, but ask them about interim scans. If you have PCOS as per your user name, you probably will as you might have a higher risk.
Good luck and please find some tools for relaxation as this process will throw a lot at you over the next couple of weeks! Xx
I have just spoken to the consultant who called me back to reassure me that this is totally ok and that there is no difference in starting on day 4 or even day 3 Because i have pcos and our follicles take longer to develop anyway !
Yes i guess so! I feel like an anxious wreck when nothing aligns with how i have planned it mentally. It is my second ivf cycle after a loss and going private so just want everything right!
