I have been to my first appointment at Dundee ACU today and had a baseline scan and amh bloods taken for ivf.
I am self funding with donor sperm. Just wondered if anyone can share their Dundee journey with me and let me know how long after this appointment did it take to start treatment? Private and nhs funded people can reply as I think Dundee just has one list.
Thanks all.

Hello, we have heard good things about Dundee’s treatment and according to the HFEA their success rates are at the higher end of the national average. We also have friends who have had success at this clinic and they were happy with the treatment they received. Unlike other NHS health boards they also provide some “extras” such as embryoscoping and embryo glue which are normally standard at private clinics. I find it ridiculous that NHS treatment isn’t standardised across all health boards.
We would have went to Dundee for a second round of self funded treatment this year as was at another clinic but the waiting list was a 6-9 month wait at the time and that was just for the initial consultation so we went private as I’m now 40 years old.
If you’ve have already had your initial appointments and tests then you’re in the system and I would be pushing for an egg collection now and any further transfers every 3 months if that works for you. I would also recommend trying to get the IVF coordinators direct phone number from the nurses and push for your appointments to be prioritised. Unfortunately you shouldn’t have to fight for appointments, but you do need to push a little harder with the NHS to get things done. Sorry I can’t give you more specifics on wait times but hope that helps in someway. Wishing you the best of luck. X
Yes I'm 40 in october i wanted to go.with dundee as when I was first diagnosed with tubal blockage I was referred here but never went forward with treatment.
I still have the option to move if I want to go faster but I'm OK just now. It's giving me time to save money and get sorted for treatment.
I will email them as the consultant said he was putting me on to the coordinator so if I have heard nothing next week I'll email.
Thanks for the reply. I hope your treatment went well.
Hello, we had an appointment for AMH blood test at the start of April, although they didn't do any scans when we were there. We then had a video call with the consultant two weeks ago and are due to start treatment after my July period. We are NHS funded
That's good to hear. They told me there is no difference on their list to funded and nhs so maybe not as long as originally thought for me then. They said could be 6 to 9 months yesterday?
But I have been on the list since December.
Seems they give standard responses to people which is a tad frustrating. Good to know it might only be 3 months away.
