Hlw ladies, hope you are doing well..I got my 1st appointment for IVF in NHS yesterday. In the meantime, I was looking for private appointment.. But it is really expensive.. But I dont waste my time as my condition is not so good due to endometriosis. But may I know is there anyone who has done ivf under nhs, and can tell that how long it will take time to start the 1st cycle from the 1st appointment time?Is there any difference between private clinic treatment vs Nhs? I just want to get the best treatment as my condition is not so good..and want to get my best treatment . But I am confused about timing, Where would be faster and best treatment ever? Anyone could help me with this..need valuable opinion Please.

NHS IVF appointment

Hi,We had our referral last February.
Our first appointment in June.
I had tests in July/ August.
Then an appointment in September and started in October.
My egg collection was in November but as I was unwell the were frozen and I had my FET in march.
It’s been pretty constant. The only delay between the collection and get was due to my illness and some work at the clinic meaning they would close over xmas and new year. So they picked me up again in January and the cycle started February.
Hope that helps.
Hi Westcostwestie how are you doing? And congratulations for your twins 👏 ❤️
I'm going for my first appointment with the clinic on Friday and I am not sure if this is done already or if the NHS funding can still be rejected/refused. Can you help me, please. Thank you

The best place to start is checking what the policy in your local area is. Each NHS trust will have a different policy of who they will treat and what treatment they will approve. If you google your area and the fertility treatment policy it should come up.
Thank you
Hi, I have endo too. I was diagnosed in June and then referred for IVF and had first appointment in Nov for further tests, our second appointment in Feb went through the results and we have our next appointment early April but we were told there is no waiting list and can start whenever we’re ready. Hope this helps x
Ok..thanks a lot..Is it in NHs now? Did yu start the injection yet?
Hey! From what I’ve read on here timelines seem to vary quite a bit via the NHS, depending on what clinic you are with. I would ask at your appointment what this might look like for you. Not sure if sharing my timeline will be useful or not as we ended up having majority of tests privately before we moved over to NHS for the actual treatment, I think this gave us a head start so we ended up moving quite quickly:
Nov 2021: first NHS consultation where we were told we could start treatment in Jan 2022
Nov 2021-Feb 2022: I had to have a few additional/repeat tests as my private ones had been over six months ago
Mar 2022: started treatment
For me, because our NHS clinic was able to start our treatment so soon, everything moved along quite quickly. No less or more than when we were private. But like I say, I imagine if a clinic can’t fit you in for quite a while, it might be a different experience!
Happy to answer any questions good luck with your first appointment xx
