Has anyone used embryo glue for a day 3 embryo? If so, did it work?
I’m going for my 4th transfer, 2nd FET soon and I want to try anything that might help. My clinic isn’t encouraging it’s use but it’s an option if I want it.
Your feedback and advice is appreciated as always xx

Hi. We had a day 3 transfer as none of our embryos ever made it to day 5. We used glue on this round as we wanted to try anything and had two embryos implanted. This has worked and I'm sure that both implanted as I got a very early positive result but only 1 has made it. It wasn't that expensive so I would say definitely go for it. I have my fingers crossed for you!X
Hi Loopylu1113 thank you and congrats on your positive result. The clinic wanted me to do a double transfer but issue is, one embryo is at day 6 and the other day 3. I don’t want to risk the day 3 going to blastocyst in case it doesn’t reach that stage outside of me. My one and only bfp was a day 3 which ended in chemical. Hopefully this one will work x
My clinic uses it as standard - I asked for it on my 3rd try and was told I'd already had it on my first two transfers! 🙈😄 I've had three 3-day transfers with the glue therefore. None have worked, but that's down to embryo quality so the glue wouldn't have impacted that.
If it's not too expensive I would go for it. You don't want to be left feeling 'what if'.
Thanks Sunshine809 yep you’re right, I don’t want that “what if” feeling. The consultant has got me questioning it as she said there’s not much data of its benefits and if there is, it’s mostly used at day 5. The clinic itself hardly uses it.
I did get pregnant twice to give you more hope!I have a 2 years old daughter and currently pregnant with my second baby
I didn't use the glue they told me it was unnecessary
I know exactly how you feel after going through 3 transfers thinking what I might do to make it work and it turned out I only needed a good embryo (all my 3rd day embryos were excellent quality)
I ended transferring in total 9 embryos via 4 transfers to get pregnant (last successfull transfer I put back 3 Embryos all excellent quality and only one stuck) point is you don't know which embryo is the one that's gonna stick
The consultant thinks it’s my embryos too. I just need one decent one to stick. I haven’t had them tested and the clinic said it would be too much to thaw, test and freeze again. Will see how we get on.
I didn't get mine tested as well for the same reasons (I think they need to reach a blast first? I am not sure)Our problem is with my husband's sperm being sooooo bad I am lucky I even get embryos in the first place.
Hope you get your good embryo to stick this time!!!!
I didn't know my clinic used it as standard on FETs until after I had my transfer (5d blast), and when I actually read the paperwork(!) there were some disclaimers about how it may help based on not much evidence and just that it didn't hinder - seemed to be they used it on balance. I got a very early BFP from that one so no idea if it helped but it was right that it didn't hurt. Best of luck.
My clinic uses it as standard with no extra cost. I had 2 embryos transferred with the glue on day 3 and now I'm 17 weeks pregnant with twins! This was our first cycle so I do not have anything to compare it to but my consultant had nothing but positive things to say about the glue and so we were happy to have it x
Hi LoveToGive its meant to be a solution that they add in the dish which the embryo is kept in before transfer, and it’s meant to help the embryo stick..
I say meant to, there’s limited studies of its effectiveness so that’s why they don’t encourage it. Having said that, from the comments above, some clinics use it as standard and obviously at my clinic, I have to pay extra 🙄 but will be worth it if it works 🤞🏼
