Let your hair down and enjoy yourself. I'm on a break between cycles and had beer daily on hols along with cappuccinos galore. I've never restricted sugar xx
Hi lovely im afraid I don’t have a science backed answer hah however I’d say as long as you do it in moderation you’re allowed a little break xx I’ve become teetotal , but did go on holidays recently and had the odd wine here and there xx then came back to teetotalism again 😂 and I did feel a bit guilty , so whatever you do just make sure to enjoy it xx
if you have pcos cutting sugar is advised as many times is about insuline resistance, so it helps your body manage the sugar better.
Sending you all the best of luck and wishing you a lovely holiday xx
- upto 2 cups coffee or tea or 4 pieces of dark chocolate per day (limit caffeine to this)
- booze: upto 2 -3 glasses per week of champagne or Prosecco is ok, avoid the rest. If having cocktails have similar base and ask to put in half sugar or no sugar
- avoid sweets at night. Have them by 2pm and in moderation (I.e not daily)
Hey, please take this from someone who has done it all! I'm round number 7now in the earlier rounds I restricted myself from everything the only thing that happened was I was miserable it changed no outcome! Enjoy life, my friend came on holiday with us as a group of girls, we was drinking every day and she didn't realise she was pregnant until she got home, the baby was fine, she's due next month, If you want to stop all the above when going through treatment then fair enough but, go away with your friends and have a great time whether that's a coffee or an espresso martini, this journey for us is hard enough!x
everything in moderation! I guess as booze is the only one you have to stop in pregnancy then that would be technically the worst but any are fine in modern pre pregnancy! Just enjoy yourself!
My clinic told me just to cut alcohol & caffeine. They said to eat whatever I like. I’ve been off the booze for the past year & a half (although I did have a couple of glasses of Buck’s Fizz over Christmas) & I’m on the decaf tea (I don’t like coffee). I tried to reduce my sugar intake but I found it impossible! I stopped trying in the end.
morning, I was advised alcohol prevents the absorption of supplements you may be taking. So perhaps time supplements and alcohol many hours apart. Wishing you all the best.
I read an article that said sugar affected egg quality more than caffeine and alcohol. But it was one article and who knows?! I have cut sugar out almost completely but it’s hard. I do have the odd drink which obvs also has sugar but I only drink decaf tea water sparkling water or the odd glass of wine I say enjoy ur holiday n don’t focus on it to much good luck! Xx
I think it depends if have any underlying problems so for me I had pcos so advised to reduce sugar (most alcohol high in sugar) and I have adenomyosis which research shows is affected by caffeine.
just enjoy your holidays and don’t think about what you eat or drink for a week or 2! The mental health benefits and happy hormones are just as important for things like this in between cycles 🤗 xx
just enjoy yourself! I had jolly time last Christmas and new year and was straight into my cycle on the 2nd jan…currently 18 and a half weeks pregnant…
just enjoy life!!! I cut out booze, caffeine, sugar, gluten, and dairy for 6 months and it made no difference in my results! Do what makes you happy but do it in moderation!
My fertility nutritionist positively endorsed a couple of glasses of red wine a week while preparing for IVF due to the antioxidant qualities so I wasn't going to argue with that! She wasn't keen on caffeine though. My fertility acupuncturist was of the view that constantly living in a state of restricting yourself from things that give you joy was bad for you so it was better to have a cocktail or glass of wine or doughnut that when you sipped it / ate it you relaxed and said to yourself "this makes me happy" and embraced that feeling than denying yourself it and feeling sad about it! Therefore I say, you are on holiday so if you fancy a glass or something or dessert etc, go for it but positively embrace it and close your eyes for a moment and say to yourself, "mmmm this feels good". Hope you have a great time!
