Hello everyone, after having 6 rounds of ivf and no live baby, my husband and I have decided to take the route of donor eggs.
I am suprisingly excited whilst have the cocktail of emotions, of grief, feeling overwhelmed and sadness.
I am looking into clinics abroad specifically as I’m looking for a donor to somewhat match my ethnicity, but also as clinics abroad offer fresh egg donors opposed to frozen (I know there are pros and cons to both).
I am keen to hear others experiences and tips on finding clinics abroad (Europe) and things to be aware of or mindful of. I have done some extensive online research and have spoken to a couple of clinics. At this point ‘I don’t know what I don’t know’. Thank you

I can relate so much to this afer having multiple tries with OE, we moved on to DE and got our miracle. I admire your strength in considering donor eggs after experiencing so much disappointment with IVF. My husband and I ended up choosing Dunya IVF in North Cyprus after a lot of research. Here are a few things I learned along the way that might help you -Take your time with research. Take time to investigate each clinic's reputation, success stories, and ethical standards. Hearing from past patients and checking accreditation can provide valuable insights. Communication is important. Look for a clinic that values open, transparent communication. Continuity of care. Consider the continuity of care offered by the clinic, especially if you're traveling from abroad. It's important to know how the clinic handles follow-up care, monitoring, and any necessary interventions post-treatment.
Christianbaby thank you so much for your kind words. It’s been a rollercoaster as it has been for you.
Your advice really rings true to me as some websites are more clear than others with this information. As all of the consultations we’re doing are online, it’s hard to gauge the genuineness of some clinics. We have been seriously let down by our first clinic in the uk for OE ivf that it takes a lot for me to trust a clinic. I think with the element of being abroad makes it harder xx
Not sure where you are looking at in terms of ethnicity, but my clinic is in Spain and I highly recommend them.
I used the egg donation friends website as a starter and then looked at packages recommended clinics offered and their ratings on other sites. Narrowed it down to a few and then contacted for initial conversations.
My clinic is in Alicante and it’s only about 30 mins from the airport after a 2hr flight.
No waiting lists for donors and its totally anonymous, which was my preference.
Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.
After 7 transfers I’m finally pregnant. 9 weeks today! 💖
