Day 11 of frozen transfer cycle - is this expected?

Hi all

I had a baseline scan today in preparation for a frozen embryo transfer. My lining was not trilaminar yet. I had a leading follicle on each side of only 3-4 mm. I usually ovulate around day 14 of the cycle.

I'm confused as I'm only on oestrogen and not fyremadel (to block ovulation). Should I expect a leading follicle by now? Or doesn't this apply to a frozen cycle with the medication I'm on?

I'm wondering if I might have a ovulation issue.

I understand that it doesn't matter if I don't ovulate, but just want to understand what's going on.

I'm having fertility treatment abroad and I think it will be my only scan pre transfer.

Any thoughts or experiences appreciated.

Hope everyone is doing well x

From what I understood, oestrogen quietens the ovaries so you shouldn't ovulate. I could be wrong though 🤷‍♀️ but I remember the nurse saying that to me at my scan.

Also wanted to say good luck I'm excited for you and keeping everything crossed 🍀🤞

Thank you 😊

I thought that vaguely too. I've probably confused myself googling as that suggests oestrogen peaks in the days leading up to ovulation. Maybe if it's taken from the start of the cycle it has the opposite affect...

Hoping not been trilaminar at this stage won't affect things x

I dont think I’ve ever had a leading follicle check with a FET (mine have always been down reg ones though so maybe different) They just check for the lining being thick enough and do bloods. They do look at my ovaries but never really commented either way on follicle size from what I remember just that they look ‘quiet as expected’ or one or 2 follicles but not an issue (not sure what that means tbh sorry!) they don’t time the FET on anything to do with ovulation etc don’t think for these ones just when lining thick enough after a while on progynova then start on progesterone. Xx
