WAITING FOR A PERIOD?!?

It’s great isn’t it - Spend your whole fertility journey hoping and praying that this cycle will work and you won’t see a period. Now here I am praying for my period to come so I can go again.

I am usually 28-32 day cycles with ok periods. In March we had a transfer which was BFN- so we stopped the progesterone and eventually a bleed came along.

I’m now 6 weeks since that bleed and nearly 2 weeks late for my period. But no idea why! I’m not pregnant and just randomly dropped out of my regular cycles.

The only thing I’ve done differently this month is I’ve been taking an “optibac” pro-biotic tablet daily to “improve my vaginal flora”

has anybody had any experience of delayed period after a BFN, progesterone or the pro-biotic?

Any stories will be greatly appreciated. I’m losing my mind wondering when I’ll next see a period.

I’m waiting for my period to start my first ever ivf & guess what its decided to be 3-4 day late. Tested x2 bfn. Typical!!! Not exactly the same but it’s very frustrating as I’m never normally late. 🙄 I can’t imagine a probiotic would impact your cycle, maybe stress? Hoping it arrives for you soon xxxx

I think it’s because normally we don’t think too much about it do we, but then when we’re sat waiting it’s just so stressful!

I’ve been excessively stressed this month with changes and redundancies in my job which I think has caused me more stress than I realise!

It sounds very likely to be stress, a redundancy situation with everything else is a lot on your body and mind! Well after writing this I had some blood, I got excited and called the clinic only to be told I wasn’t able to start ivf this month because my EC would fall on the bank holiday 😞 I spoke to them twice as I was very upset and I tried to get in today so EC was Friday but it wasn’t available. The worst thing is my period hasnt actually arrived it was just some spotting. It might come tomorrow but if any later the clinic are going to think I’m lying just to get in . I shouldnt have jumped the gun. I may have used the word full flow in my email as I wanted to try and get in today not Monday as I wasn’t working today but I never thought this would happen, ahhh!

Ahh this is so frustrating isn’t it. Fertility is just full of delays! Don’t blame yourself for trying to get ahead of it. I’d be exactly the same. It’s so hard when you just want to get going with everything x

It might be that the hormones you took for the first cycle have messed your cycle up a little bit, or maybe you're stressing... My cycle is very susceptible to changes when I'm stressed. It will come... Your body and mind have been through alot with the cycle. Let it take the time it needs to be ready to go again.

Yeah I think you’re right.

I have been really really stressed out this month with redundancies and things going on at work. So it quite possibly could be that. Hoping it comes soon! Thanks so much for the reply xxx

Hi. Unfortunately, your hormones are a bit jumbled up at the moment. They will sort themselves out but it can take 2-3 months sometimes. Try not to get too stressed, it’s on the way. Good luck. Diane

I have literally just posted this! Yes me too! I am day 37 and usually am like clockwork. No chance of pregnancy this month and am just waiting!! It will come but how it loves to frustrate us!!

I don’t know what’s possibly causing mine. Probably stressed that my periods late is causing my period to be late. Hahaha.

Yeh I think mine took 2 months to come after a BFN but then it went back to normal
