Misoprostol medical miscarriage. Constant cramping.

I had Misoprostol medical induced miscarriage on Monday 8th. I had 4 hours of heavy bleeding and extreme cramps on the Monday. Then Tuesday, weds and Thurs I felt physically fine. Then Friday morning in the middle of the night I woke up with extreme cramps again. Not as bad as Monday. But bad enough I can't sleep and desperately needed to take pain relief. Since then I have had constant cramping and little bleeding but the cramps won't let up. I'm feeling a lot of discomfort and having to manage with pain killer. Is this normal? EpU didn't really explain if I fit the proper profile of someone going through this type of miscarriage. They just said if pain not manageable go to a and e. Can anyone share any experience. Much appreciated

Thank you xxDid you end up have the d&c or did the clinic confirm all had passed? I'm worried perhaps the intensity and continuation of cramps could indicate infection or something. Epu won't see me they just advise a and e if I can't cope

I was back and forth to epu a few times as they were very unsure if i had retained product but eventually nothing was done and i was able to go onto my next cycle xx

Hi Trex, so sorry to hear that you’re going through such a difficult time. In my experience, like you I had terrible cramping after about an hour or so of taking the tablet. It didn’t last long though, I was already passing clots when I went into the hospital so I think the meds just sped everything up. I passed the pregnancy tissue really quickly and within a couple of hours the cramping had completely stopped. The bleeding was heavy for a couple of days then light for about a week after.

I’m not medically trained and I imagine everyone’s experience is different but I wonder jf you passed some tissue, but not all, on the first day and then passed more a few days later. Could you ring EPU and ask for a scan so they can see what’s going on?

Sending lots of love to you X

Thank you for sharing your story with me. I did ring the EPu yesterday and they really seem unphased and couldn't advise me either way and wouldn't let me come in. My next scan with them is the 22nd. I just really scared maybe I have an infection and the intensity and continuation of cramps after I had 2 days or so feeling physically normal is a sign of something not going right
